Hi!

Was interested what music other people where using on the day. Walking down the aisle, signing, walking back down the aisle etc...

Would love to hear other peoples ideas!

Hi!
I had a garden wedding and this is what we had --
*Walking down the aisle: At Last - Etta James
*Signing the Register - Over the rainbow - Ray Charles - Most beautiful version EVER.
*Walking back up the aisle: Stand by me - BB king (I think?)

We also had a CD of songs on loop for guests whilst we were waiting and afterwards during drinks/chats/photos - mostly old school, jazz type stuff...it was perfect.

Love Love Love all these songs - thinking of having the same for our wedding, maybe a different one for the signing the register but i still love "Over the Rainbow"

We also had an outdoor wedding, and had a lady singing.
We had:
Walking up the aisle: "Songbird" - Eva Cassidy
Singing the register: "Arithmetic" - Brooke Frazer
Walking back up the aisle: "This Way" - Jewel

I loved my music, and chose them because of their lyrics wub.gif
"It's impossible" said pride.
"It's risky" said experience.
"It's pointless" said reason.
"Give it a try" whispered the heart...

I'd like a very traditional church ceremony so I'll be choosing hymns or traditional music for the ceremony. I'm considering those below but haven't discussed it with the FH yet:

- Traditional Bridal March
- Pachelbel's Canon in D
- Hymn: Be Thou My Vision
- Hymn: Come thy fount of every blessing
- Hymn: Joyful Joyful (Ode to Joy)
- Hymn: Rock of Ages

Hubby and I had so much fun picking the music for the wedding biggrin.gif

We had:
Walking down the aisle: Iris- Vitamin String Quartet
During our first Kiss/Beginning of signing the register: Kiss the Girl - The Little Mermaid
Signing of the register: Wherever You Will Go - The Calling
Iris - GooGoo Dolls
End of ceremony: Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Isreal Kamakawiwo'Ole

Have fun picking your music and all the best for the rest of your wedding!

We had Somewhere over the Rainbow (the Israel Kamikowiwo'ole version) for walking down the aisle and that was the only music we played during the ceremony. We didn't have anything for the signing or walking back up the aisle. Thinking back now another song during the signing would have been nice as it was a bit too quiet for that part!

I loved our song though - it's a popular one by the looks of this thread so far! laugh.gif I knew I would tear up when the song started as we walked down and I was totally fine until I heard it begin... wub.gif

My only advice is not to worry about what you think would be "appropriate" or liked by your guests, and choose songs that mean something to you and your FH and have songs that you really love as it will be one of the things you will always remember from your day...both you and your husband will always remember your walk down the aisle whenever you hear that song, and your signing of the certificate song etc so choose what you want! smile.gif

i agree pick what means most to you.
we loved picking all our music it's a cool way say things that would normally just be unsaid... if that makes sense.
we had
walking down the aisle: making memories - kieth urban
signing the register: nothing else matters - metallica and only hope - switchfoot
recessional: we are family- sister sledge
