I have started thinking about what to get Oliver for his birthday already. Yes, crazy I know but i need inspiration.

What did you / are you getting your 3 year old?

I am thinking he will need things to help keep him occupied on his own?

Lego, matchbox cars, jigsaw puzzles type things but he has loads of this. I need something new.

Rosie got a marble run for Christmas. It comes in pieces and you can build it lots of different ways, then you watch the marbles running through. It's a big hit.

What about an electronic train or car set? Not sure if they exist for a 3 yr old.

My kids have a village from Kids Central that they love. All the pieces are sold separately so you can tailor it to his interests. We have a house, fire station, shops, post office, vet & a fairground. There is also an airport, train station, farm, church, preschool etc. It is the best thing we have ever bought - has been played with constantly for 2 yrs & still going strong.

I love the sound of the village, might have to investigate myself biggrin.gif

We got Kaia a range of dress ups and a Little Tike kitchen with bbq.

She is very into role play and both are big hits almost as much as her Monsters Inc book wink.gif

our plan this year is for family to put in for a trampoline for BOTH kids, as their birthday and christmas presents.

So for Taylor's actual birthday she will only receive a few small things from us as her parents and probably nothing from everyone else. The trampoline will go to the kids at Christmas.

Last time I checked everyone was happy with this........saves them trying to figure out what to buy biggrin.gif

ETA: we plan on getting one of the small round springfree trampolines, so way out of our budget for us to buy ourselves.

It's my son's 3rd birthday today biggrin.gif and I got him a great doll house with furniture and people. He also received lots of puzzles and a fantastic magnetic man that comes with 6 outfits to dress him in which he's loving!

He has a wooden car ramp/garage thing that he always plays with too (got for Chrissy) and a wooden kitchen outside undercover that he loves too. He'll happily play for hours with all of these as well as his sand pit, cars and tea set (and a jug of water keeps him going even longer!).

Some other idea's: a totem tennis set, a soccer net and ball, golf set (even could go so far as to get one of those putting mates that you hit the ball in and it spits it back out to you laugh.gif ), a basketball ring, trampoline (oh how I wish!) and some play dough and assorted tools to accompany it! I made three tubs last night using this super simple recipe (I just put everything into the kitchen aid with the dough hook and let it do the work!).

A scooter is another great idea but I didn't feel my son was coordinated enough for one yet - might save that for next Christmas!

I think a bike will be a hit with JJ this year. He really doesn't need any more toys etc.

For her 3rd birthday we got Penny a Mr Potato Head that she LOVES! She also got a magnadoodle that she really enjoys.

As others have said, a bike. Penny loves her "push bike"!

laugh.gif Ditto! wink.gif

Technically my son only got half a doll-house though, he's sharing with my daughter who's birthday was a week ago (tightarse mcgee over here ph34r.gif )

I also bought him a backpack which, surprisingly, I think has been his favourite present. It's got dinosaurs on the front and he tells me stories about them "I don't like the tarararararous rex but I do like the stickasauros" wub.gif

I want to make Kaele a really good sandpit this year - with a good lid so it cant get yuck.

We toyed with a tramp but because we want a springfree one, we are going to wait until bugster is walking and old enough and combine the present for the two of them.

Um I think a bike would be good for him, bikes are always a hit, I think that is what my 3 yr old nephew got too!

Josh's favourite toy would have to be his train set. The wooden one that he can build himself and make all different tracks with. With the battery operated trains, so they pull heaps of carriages along.

He got a bike for christmas and is crazy on it.
