Hi!

I am hoping to get some feed back if anyone has stayed on both islands? They both look amazing but I keep getting quotes saying the snorkelling is better on Moorea but love the look of the sands on Bora Bora?
We want to stay in an Overwater bungalow and our TA has come back with a few hotels to choose from!
I need help deciding smile.gif

Why not stay on both?

To be honest, the best snorkelling we had was on Tahiti itself. We stayed on Tahiti and Bora Bora and had a day on Moorea snorkelling. Oh the whole thing was amazing and I'm utterly jealous. smile.gif

Bora Bora is particularly expensive and we started to get a little bored as we stayed on the outer reef, not on the island. I'd be inclined to mix it up and stay on at least 2 if you can like Malibustci said .

Hi Karen,

We stayed in Papeete for 3 nights, Moorea for 5 nights, and Bora Bora for 3 nights. Moorea has the best of everything in my opinion, but I wouldn't have been satisfied to have travelled all that way, and not been able to say that I had seen Bora Bora.

If I had my time again, I would skip Bora Bora, and only visit Moorea. We chose our accommodation based on the snorkelling near by, as both of us are prolific snorkellers.

We stayed in OWB on both islands (and just in a normal hotel room on Tahiti). On Moorea, we stayed at the Sher@ton, which is now the H!lton. The snorkelling off the OWB was fantastic.

On Bora Bora we stayed at the Sof!tel Motu, which is right on top of the Coral Gardens (which is where all the snorkelling tours on the island take the tourists). The coral gardens were good, but on the whole, the clarity was much better on Moorea.

I also found that Moorea has a much nicer 'vibe', as Bora Bora has really been sold out to tourism.

This forum has heaps of helpful information.

Hi,

We stayed at Tahiti and Moorea.

On Moorea we stayed at the sofitel in an OWB
It was amazing!
We were on the island 9 days and had a great time exploring around by ourselves.
The snorkling was great and we went on the whale watching tour and got to see a whale and dolphins.
I suggest hiring a car if you stay at the sofitel as it's a bit away from everything else.
The beach is beautiful and you can snorkle of your rooms balcony.

Good luck, it's so hard to make the desicion !!
