not sure if this is the right place to post, but my daughter is freaking me out!! ph34r.gif

we recently rennovated (moving front door, relocating lounge and kids' room) and since we have, I've felt uneasy.

Hannah would wake up at night screaming into our room saying things like "scary teddy" and "people in the window". her blind is always down at night, and we removed the teddy she found scary.

now she's talking to herself!
I don't mind her having an imaginary friend (I hope it's not a split consciousness like I used to have unsure.gif ) but she won't talk to me!

we went to pick her dad up from work the other night and she was talking in whispers in the back of the car. when I asked her who she was talking to she ignored me. I tilted the mirror to look at her and it scared the crap out of me - it didn't look like her at all!! she glared at me in such a way that I was truly frightened. I felt uneasy the rest of the trip, and still do.

she won't tell me anything about it, she won't talk to me. I get a feeling that there's 'something' but I just don't know what. it sounds so stupid that I hate being here alone with her sad.gif I also hate going out the back at night (not just the unease I feel outside, but worried about her too)

I've told her its ok to have a friend mummy can't see, but she needs to talk to me about it.

I've always been open-minded but I've never been afraid like this before!!

Oh Jess, that is scary!
Have you had any paranormal activity before you did the renovations?

I really dont know what to say, but children are supposedly alot more open to spirits, seeing 'things' and so on.

A friend of mines 18mth old son will not sleep in his room because there is a scary man..and he is truely petrified, (wont eat cause he is so tired but so scared he wont sleep) he sleeps in any other room fine but loses it when he is in his own sad.gif

Only thing i can suggest is looking up online as much info and see if you can find someone with experience with something like this.

Goodluck, i hope you can get your baby girl back and start feeling at ease in your home again.

Woah, that scared me and I'm only reading about it - can't imagine what it would be like to actually be there.

I agree with MrsWhitton to look online and get as much info as you can. Maybe even look into a 'ghost hunter' to come out to your place just to look around. Just a suggestion.

Good luck and I hope things work out and your daughter starts acting herself again.

thanks for not making me feel silly.
C doesn't believe in things like this and thinks its all in my head and she's just expressing her "terrible twos".
It's not an all the time thing. today, she's loving and playful - having a tea party with her dolls and smooches with James and singing and dancing with me, but I'm still just waiting for it to 'switch on'

being in such a small town I don;t think we have anything paranormal-ish here in terms of businesses, and we're not religious so cant have the place exorcised ph34r.gif

may have to do some net-searching

Jess..you might be surprised what you find if you look, even if its a small town other people may have experienced something similar...is it an old area?

I agree I would suss out if someone in town might have some experience. People are not often forward with these things, its when you get to know them things come out.

What you have written really unsettles me and I too would feel uneasy about it all. Personally I would be mentioning to people in town things like 'It's so strange since we did some renovations my daughter is so unsettled, maybe we unsetteld a ghost when we did it...' then you can always insert a laugh to laugh off your comment or a 'what advice have you got' depending on the reaction you receive.

I too would be googling and seeking advice from people interstate, there may be things you can yourself at the advice of someone over the phone.

I agree. Definately put some feelers out there to see if anyone has had similar experiences.

A lady from a meditiation group I attend. Recently her 18month old was suffering from horrible night terrors. They even started happening during the day out of the blue. The lady who runs the group did something (I dont know exactly) but ever since the lady's daughter hasn't had them.

It's worth a try.

This is a very good idea. Also try Googling your area to see if you can find any history on it that might explain it. Is your house old?

I'm interested in finding out info about my parents place since I've witnessed weird things there too.

I have nothing to really offer in the way of help, but that is a bit freaky.

The other freaky thing is I got an email from another group I'm in on a very similar topic this morning. The link to the thread is here if you want to read it.

My only advice Jess is to keep to talking to her and to see if she divulges any more info. I think all you can do is let her know that you are there for her if she wants to share stuff.

When DH was little about 8 or so - he refused to sleep in one of the bedrooms at his Nan's house - no reason just hated it in there. About twenty years later his Nan admitted that she saw a ghost in that room!
