There is thread after thread about this already. leave him rear facing as long as possbile. It is the safest way for him to be. Check the rating on your chair, most can be rear facing until 12kg. Some only 8-9kg.

Audrey was rear facing until she was almost 3, when she finally reached 12kg.

We changed Liam's 2 week ago when he was 12 months. I wanted to wait till at least his 1st birthday as it is the safest. With Keira though I changed her a lot earlier like 8/9 months. She met the weight requirement so the fitter had no problem changing it around for me. The only reason i turned her early though was because she kept turning her head to look at me and it didnt look like it was doing her neck any good.

Today my boy is 15 weeks old so nearly four months.

Today my boy was weighed - in the nude - and tipped the scales at 8.95kg with an empty tummy mellow.gif

There is NO WAY I'm turning my boy yet.

Flynn now does not use his sister's old seat rated to 9kg he has a brand new one rated rearward to 12kg wub.gif

Hopefully he gets a few more months facing backward wacko.gif

Eddie was 10kg at 6 mths, but didn't hit 12kg until just over 12 mths, so hopefully your little man will be the same. He was perfectly happy rearward facing but his seat was rated to 12kg so I had to turn him around.
