Update on us - We bought Annabelle home today and its so far been pretty cruisy. DH is currently putting together her baby rocker (it was pink so i left it in the box just in case we had a boy laugh.gif ) A and i have spent most of the day sleeping and she's now asleep in her bassinet.
She's a good little baby - she feeds really really well, sleeps really well (infact this morning she had 6 whole hours) she just doesnt settle very well and we often have trouble at night. When i was in hospital the nurses would take her into the nursery for me until i stopped them a few nights ago and insisted i do it myself as there is no nursery full of nurses at home for me.

I'm hoping we have a good night tonight, i got a few tips from a lovely nurse last night - keep up the light and noise just like during the day. Wish me luck!

Yes Aimee, we need some pictures of Annabelle!

I just realised that Annabelle is the first baby that was born in January. xo

Annabelle sounds like Tom at night. Refuses to settle, but sleeps for ages when he does. Finally settled at 1am this morning, then slept til 5:30-6ish, had a feed and then slept til 9ish.

Does Annabelle go through periods where she just constantly feeds for over an hour, or do I have a guts or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks Aimee for starting this thread, I got so excited when I saw it in new topics wub.gif
The little man doesn't like night times either, maybe our bubs are all party animals laugh.gif

Cat, bub has periods like that for me too, sometimes he'll only feed for 10 mins and other times for ages. I actually discussed this with a MCH nurse today and she said it's totally normal.

We have had a rough few days sleep wise but bub is soundly sleeping in his capsule now because he finally fell into a deep sleep in the car. Oh how I love the capsule wub.gif
I think the heat has been getting to him, it was 43 today! Not nice but we went to visit good old grandad for the afternoon because he has air con!

Another jealous Jan mummy waiting to pop to join you all blush.gif Just popping in to say hi to all the new mummies!

I agree that you definitely need to post some photos girls! We want to see your littlies!

Cyndi - must be really hard coping with trying to keep bub cool in this heat. It's hard enough trying to keep yourself cool let alone a tiny baby.

Hi everyone smile.gif

Oliver and I came home yesterday, in 43 degree heat! Thank god for airconditioning.

He had a great first night, went to sleep after only a little fussing, and slept through til 10.30am this morning when I got him up for a feed. I got him up at 5.30am as well, and he fed with barely an eye open and went straight back to sleep. Had a midwife visit today which sorted out a few feeding questions, and he is now asleep on a blanket on the floor, soaking up some UV rays to help with his jaundice. He is so amazingly beautiful, I can't believe we made him. I love being his Mummy and so happy that he chose me.

Can I ask a really dumb, kinda embarrassing question? It could be an indication that I am insane, but here goes.

Sometimes when I have Tom in my arms, I have visions of me dropping him or something else horrible happening, and it freaks me out a bit. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I just a paranoid new mummy?

Also, anyone know how to get rid of a booger that is right in the nasal passage? Poor little bugger is a regular little snuffles at the moment.

I'm exactly the same. I have these kind of visions all the time, and it really freaks me out.
