Heather, I have made Annabel Karmel's lovely lentils recipe, pureed it and it is often spread on Nina's sandwiches or cruskits, she loves it. I can post it if you like.

Nina is regressing badly with food. She is refusing the spoon so I offer her finger food and she is just chucking it. I worked out this morning that she is pushing away the tray, not the food so I took the tray off and fed her weetbix and she did eat most of it. We also have to have the TV on.

Thanks for that - would love to lentils recipe please!!

My sister has started getting creative, the last person I thought I would get ideas from. But she is making smoothies and putting some pureed vegetables in them, going with the 'colour' theory so cauliflower in banana ones, sweet potato in peach ones. Then she is freezing them as iceblocks. she said you cannot taste the vegetables!!! I'm going to give this a go!

50g finely chopped onion
100g carrots
15g celery
15g butter
50g split red lentils (I soaked them over night, don't think this long is necessary though)
250g sweet potato
400ml chicken stock (I use half stock half water)

Saute the onion, carrots and celery in the butter. Add lentils and sweet potato and pour over liquid. Bring to the boil and simmer covered for 20 mins, blend.
