Zack started today pulling his hands out of the harness straps while we are driving along? The strtaps are quite tight on him so I don't think tightening will help. We stopped several times on the way home and told him no and put his hands back but he kept doing it. Is there anything I can buy to stop him doing it. It is to dangerous htat he is doing this and it scares me that one day I won't notice.

I wonder if you could find some sort of strap that goes between the two straps, it would go like a 'H', am I making sense? I've seen them on some car seats, but I'm not sure if those car seats come that way or it's an attachment you can buy seperately.

Lena, I don't know how to stop this but I wanted to let you know Felix does the same thing! I think the straps are quite tight on him but somehow he still gets his arms out. It used to be just one arm, but now he's getting both out. I don't know how he does it! wacko.gif

Alex does this rolleyes.gif Especially great when you're on the freeway doing 100!

We have a Securap but Alex learnt how to undo it, it's got press studs on the back.

I'm going to get a Houdini Stop and see if that works better, it looks like it would be harder for them to undo.

That Houdini Stop looks great, I might try to get one, thanks!

And talk about doing 100 on the freeway - we were on the freeway driving along and the car made its 'bing bong' warning sound. I though, "why are you bing bonging at me? I'm not low on fuel, the road isn't icy, I'm wearing my seatbelt..". I didn't know what it was warning me about at first, but a quick glance in the back and I realised Felix had openend his door!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif I think my heart stopped beating for a few seconds! Luckily he was strapped in (and didn't have his arms out at the time!) and I was able to pull over quickly. I ALWAYS make sure the child lock is on the door now. I had no idea he even knew how to open the door!

OMG how terrifying Allee!
I have set both rear doors to child lock so they cannot be opened from the inside for just such a possibility.
Glad you were able to stop safely & sort it out.

molly likes to do the same thing - quite infuriating since the girls never did it - i have no solution, i just (thankfully) don't drive on roads higher than 60 so i can pull over quickly and safely to do her back up - that and have the early warning system known as lily who is uber diligent on seat belts being on.

Nate does this but not very often any more i think mummy's crazy voice and telling him was dangerous kinda scared him out of it.

When he does do it i immediately stop the car (safely of course) and tell him that its naughty and put his arms back through, if he's being cheeky he'll immediately try it again and so i tell him that we arent driving until he puts his arms back in. It works most of the time and like i said the crazy voice helps a little.

Thanks so much girls. I think I am going to order a Houdini strap and see how it goes. I wish mummies stern voice would work on Zack it just never seems too mad.gif laugh.gif
