we had a bing the other day, nothing serious but I want Ella's car seat checked out.

Does anyone know how you go about this? I had a look on the britax website and it doesn't say. It wasn't a severe crash by any means (person in front of me stopped dead and I couldn't stop quick enough, it wasn't high speed air bags didn't deploy and Ella slept through the whole thing), so we aren't eligible for a replacement, but now I have no idea what the next step might be. We have a couple of weeks before my car is back from repair, and we have a seperate seat for DH's car so we aren't using it at the moment.

Will hopefully get into tge shop I purchased it from at some stage this w/end to see if they now, but thought you girls tend to know more than baby shops!

Also big love to those of you that posted and shared info on keeping bubs rearfacing. Everyone else in my MG bar 1 person now has bubs forward facing but after reading info on here I had made the decision to keep her RF until she can fit now longer and I am positive that if she had been forward she would have not stayed asleep and possibl would have had at least some soreness/stiffness as I do. So once again am so very happy to have read wonderful advice from you ladies. wub.gif

You say your car is repaired? is that thru insurance? if it is, no matter how small the ccident was, they are responsible for replacing the car seat. If your paying for it (even though the car in rint braked suddenly, you being the last car are at fault) i would for peice of mind purchase another seat. It could have the smallest of small crack in it, and i personally could not risk that smile.gif

How is your neck now Mel? Hope you had a good night last night, I may as well have come into work considering the night I had!!

I am pretty sure you can get them checked at RACT if it doesn't have to be checked or fixed through insurance.

I'm really not sure what the go is, hence I figured I'd ask here.

Emma, yep I am at fault but luckily going through nIsurance. Will give AAMI a call today and see what the go is with them, obviously I would never take any risks, if it is the recommendation that they should be replaced no matter what then of course I will do that (hoping to goodness I insurance will cover!!)
my understanding was that since britax replace them after a serious accident then that would mean that there must be a way of checking them out for "unserious" accidents??

Afterglow - neck still bit stiff, that said it was a bit stiff beforehand too so am notsure what is the accident and my usual crappy neck stuff.
Your night must have been bad, last night SOOO boring, not a single match and I was all isolated by myself without you and Shenai!!! I think they felt sorry for me, said I could move down to themain group, but I couldnt be bothered laugh.gif

I agree with Emma, if you are claiming insurance, claim the cost of a new car seat.

I'd get a new one. Even if insurance didn't cover it I'd find someway of getting a new one. I wouldn't want to find out that the seat was faulty after it had failed.

FYI for those that are interested, I spoke with AAMI and they replace all car seats involved in accidents. I just have to get quotes for replacement and drop them in at the assessment centre...
