My brothers partner is pregnant and I want to get a wonderful present!? She is only in the first few weeks, but I will be an auntie so I am so excited! IU am thinking about it now...

We got a set of 2 super absorbent towels. Nothing special, I think they were Dryglo brand? They are still going strong and she will be 5 in a few months.

ALL the pressies we got at our shower were well considered, gorgeous and very special wub.gif But our BEST pressie? Celebrating the occasion with such a gorgeous bunch of women.

The company was worth 1000x the pressies. For me, it was spending time with special, wonderful women. I wub.gif my shower smile.gif

Hmmm I liked the board books I received and all the practical things like flannels, wraps, wipes, teething rings, etc.

Try to get something for the Mother rather than the baby. The baby always gets all the gifts tongue.gif

For my friend who recently had a bub, I visited her a few times a week after bubs was born and brought her meals and held bub for her so she could have a rest. Anything that will be helpful for the Mother post-birth is great smile.gif

Also for my SIL who is due in October I'm thinking of getting her a pre-natal massage. Because pregnant women can't lie on their tummies for a massage, the pre-natal massage has the woman lie on warm water cushions and she's massaged through those. Not quite sure how it works, but sounds relaxing nonetheless biggrin.gif

Best pressie I got was a homemade baby first aid kit - it had EVERYTHING you could possibly need, want or could even think of, but best of all it also came with instructions for everything! She had colour coded every item (i.e., pink strip around one item, and then instructions written in the same pink) and wrote out not only exactly how to use it, but when you would need to use it, what you could and couldn't use it with, and other things to try before, during, and after you use the item.

Best. Pressie. Ever.
Everything about you is so little -
your tiny toes, your button nose, your teensy fingers
and your pint-sized giggles.
And yet, you are the biggest miracle of my life

Wow Loz that sounds amazing. Could you give me some examples? I've got a friend having a c-sect next Wednesday and I'm racking my brains about a going home with baby gift, currently without success. This might fill the void?

I just thought of something else we were given which was awesome...

its was a Brauer sample baby pack, had small bottles of their teething relief, stomach calm, colic relief and a small tube of their nappy rash relief cream

only about $20 from chemists.

All the brauers stuff is homeopathic too which is great for bubs

I'd given my mum a list of baby stuff I still needed in case people asked her what to get (she threw my baby shower)- and she decided to use it as her personal shopping list! wub.gif So that was really handy to get so many things that I really needed still- like cradle sheets, mattress protectors, things for the nappy bag...My MIL gave me a digital thermometor and a 12-pack of terry flats, and that was fantastic too.

One of the best presents, surprisingly, was this huge plush dog we call Mumford- Levi loves him, and snuggles up to him all the time, rolling around the floor with him and squealing wub.gif

The best present I got for my baby shower was a beautiful baby blanket - you know the nice one's that you put over them in the pram etc

I hadn't even thought of getting one of these types of blankets and I used it ALL the time.

When Ryan was born, I bought him his own gorgeous little blanket to have happy.gif

My nappy bucket!! Angus' godmum knew it was one of the things I didn't have so she got me a great big, bright one with a wonderful lid. I love it and use it everyday and it reminds me of how wonderful she was to throw a shower for me wub.gif

Some great idea's there, things I wouldn't think of too!

I love the idea of a new born photography session! Brilliant!
What is something like that worth??
