After spending the weekend listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 of all time I'd be interested in hearing what others thought of it.

I personally thought there was too much Radiohead & Jeff Buckley. But was happy to see a few surprises like The Hilltop Hoods in the top 20.

What did you think?

Here's the link to the list HERE

I'm glad Nirvana came in at number 1, although we all knew it would. wink.gif

I was pleasantly surprised with Rage Against the Machine making number 2. smile.gif

I was also happy to see Hilltop Hoods in there with Nosebleed section. Totally out of left field, but totally deserved.

I agree with you, too much Radiohead and Jeff Buckley. I think only two Jeff Buckley songs should have been in there. I don't see how Hallelujah made it to number 3??

Overall, I was pretty happy with the list. smile.gif

I am disappointed that yet again Nirvana came in #1. Whilst I think it's a great song, I don't think it deserved top spot.

I am happy with Jeff Buckley and Radiohead. Radiohead are brilliant.

Not happy with Hilltop Hoods, I don't like them, and I don't think any of their songs deserve 100 of ALL TIME. It's a pretty big call to have them in there.

My happy little boy!

Radiohead are brilliant.

Oh don't get me wrong I think they're brilliant too, but three songs in the top 20??
I guess it's cause OK computer was one of the greatest albums of the past 20 years. The 'Pet Sounds' or 'Sgt Pepper' of the 90s. Still, I think they were represented a little too much.

I like Jeff Buckley too, but for me he would've been waaaay down the list.

All in all, pretty happy with it - Ella and I moshed (well bounced around)through the majority of then top 10 - with me covering her ears for a fair bit of killing in the name of laugh.gif well stoked that got #2 and I was happy that nirvana came #1 again...

Pretty happy with it over all.

I don't think Hilltop Hoods or Muse deserve to be in the top 20, infront of Powderfinger These Days??.

But hey it is a democracy.

I loved seeing Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven in the top 10. I am not a Radiohead fan so was a bit 'meh' at those. I love Buckley so was happy to see Hallelujah at three!

Nosebleed section is so evocative of a summer camping trip I went on a couple of years ago so I loved seeing it there even if I do secretly agree that it probably doesn't have a place on the 100 hottest songs of all time!

But really I would have had 'Paint it Black' further down the list (i.e. closer to 1), certainly 'London Calling' would have been further down my list. Not to mention that my list would have had some Blondie on it!

I agree with the too many radio head songs, I actually found the whole top 20 quite depressing with the odd awesome song. I am young but found myself asking "what's this song" heaps in the top 20, I dont know maybe I just dont listen to JJJ enough? Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed, especially with my beer and bbq!

So tell me, if Dave Grohl was in there for QOTSA, Foo Fighters and Nirvana does that make him the most awesome musician of all in the eyes of JJJ listeners? ... or is it just me hehe

I didn't give much thought to what my own top 100 (or top 20) would be but it was great to reminisce to all the songs that got me through my teeenage angst years! biggrin.gif I loved that red hot chlli peppers foo fighters and smashing pumpkins did so well cool.gif

I found myself saying to nearly every single song "Oh I love this song" and "this was a year 10 song" or this song got me through this.

I love music!

Where were the female artists? There was lots of angry white man music!

Agree with the too much Buckley - how does a cover song make #3?

I really enjoyed the count down and had a blast reliving my past!!!

Agree with Jeff Buckley...not a fan! I love Creep from Radiohead so was happy to see that in the top twenty. I wasn't sure about Hilltop hoods though. I think for the generation that would have voted Nirvana was a fair number one!

Hmmm Hilltop Hoods in the top 20?? What the?

I hate how skewed this was to the 90's, there is so much more good music before then. But I guess it is due to the generation that voted in this - so it makes sense.

Also far too much Radiohead in there.

I feel like I am getting old tongue.gif

I think the generation most likely to vote would have been the '90's' group (like me except no voting here...just listening)

and i'm getting old too tongue.gif
