Thanks Clair! Yes it is a beautiful song. John Denver was such an amazing songwriter. biggrin.gif He also wrote a song called 'For You' which was our bridal waltz and is also a gorgeous love song.

I love that one, too. What a beautiful 1st dance song.

John Denver had the most divine, rich voice, and his songwriting was awesome. Milo - my H2B is a songwriter, and he wrote a song called Kindling Fires that was inspired by John Denvers style. I love it!

Our's is D'ream 'Things can only get better'. It was the song that was playing when we first kissed (in a gay night club laugh.gif ) and we are having it played as we walk back down the aisle after the ceremony.

Me too!! Reminds me of home, we used to play it on my grandma's old electric organ smile.gif

Our song is Green Eyes by Coldplay - we've both got green eyes so its like it was made for us.

Chorus goes:

I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter
Now I met you
Honey you should know
That I could never go on
Without you
Green eyes

Any song we hear by Coldplay makes us both go all gooey and pathetic - you can imagine what we were like at the concert last year tongue.gif

Ours is Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. During our first few emails back and forward to get to know each other after we met, I mentioned how much I loved that song. He said it was his fave too, and he sang along with it whenever it was on the radio smile.gif wub.gif

omg- me tooo!

we have two.
1-yellow, by coldplay (bridal waltz) i can't remember how it came about but somehow it means so much!
2-the luckiest, by ben folds (the one on the rspca ad) when he broke up with me 3 years ago (coz i was a bit messed up) i couldn't talk to him. so one day i found a way to make him listen to this song. he took me back and helped me put my life bakc together. it's a very personal song and i can't listen without crying.

"nextdoor, was an old man who lived into his nineties
and one day, passed away in his sleep
and his wife she stayed for a cuople of days and passed away
i'm sorry i know that's a strange way to tell you
that i know we belong..."

"what if i'd been born fifty years before you
in a house on the street where you lived
maybe i'd be outside as you passed on your bike
would i know?
and in a wide sea of eyes, i'd see one pair that i recognise..."
"look at the stars...look how they shine for you"

I am not exactly sure if both of us were asked, which song we would choose or if we would say the same song title! but..i think we would both say 'Days like this' by Van morrison..we have recently 'found it' and love it....It just seems to be 'ours'...

I also liked 'its amore' by Dean Martin, it was a song that H2B played alot when we first met..showing off a wide range of music I think..

Ours is 'I knew I loved you' by Savage Garden. Appropriate because we met on the Net and I think I started falling in love with him before I even met him smile.gif We're going to have this as our 1st dance song. I wanted to have it as our walking down the aisle song but my SIL did 3 years ago! Didn't want to have it too much like their wedding laugh.gif

We have two: "You're My First, My Last, My Everything" by Barry White. It's on the first CD we listened to in my car in our early days of our "courting"!

and

"Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" by Van Morrison. Quite freaky: after FH proposed, he leant over the table to kiss me and at that exact minute it came on the juke box, totally unplanned. I guess we are meant to be!!!
