Megan, we went to Seaworld on the weekend, we did like it, but Kaele could only go on the 3 rides in sesame st beach, and we watched the show (That was dedicated to kids).. we are taking Kaele to dreamworld next month, I reckon youll love it! Does Jack like Wiggles?

Oh yes, Wiggles #1 fan here laugh.gif His room is Wiggles, his birthday party was Wiggles and as I type he is bopping to "Shimmy shake" laugh.gif

Rosa I hope you get some rest!

www.dreamworld.com.au

I don't think you could go wrong with either Dreamworld or Seaworld and I guess where you are staying might play a part as to which one you choose.

I am happy to report that Taylor didn't wake up at 6am this morning biggrin.gif I kept telling her last night, now what time do we wake up in the morning and I would say 7am and she would copy me wub.gif
I was naughty and didn't go into her room until 7.30am because she didn't make a peep!

ooops sorry, id idn't see those replies when i posted last time.

Oooh Mish, North QLD? that isn't near me! laugh.gif tongue.gif
I hope you are back to 100% very soon. Can't imagine how you were feeling sad.gif
Enjoy Dorothy!

Megs, at Dreamworld there is;

Blues Skiddo ride
Merry Go Round
Dora Seaplanes
Swinger Zinger
an enclosed area where you shoot foam balls at one another
Dorothy teacup ride
Big Red Car ride
Captain Feathersword ship (basically just walk onto it and there is a few twirly things etc)
A Wiggles mini play area
Train ride

Then show wise, we have only seen (with Taylor so far) Tiger Island, Oaky Creek Farm Show
and gone into the kangaroo enclosure and seen the koalas as well

Lots more to do there (Slime show, characters walking about etc etc). We just go for a few hours at a time so just do whatever is on show wise while we are there

I am feeling blah again, but I'm sure it's just plain old allergies. God they can take so much out of you.

Rosa, enjoy your scan and Alex free time.
LMAO @ Scott's comments.
I hope your cough clears up soon............have you been gargling salty water before bed at night ? I think that helped mine a bit.

well I didn't have a childless day, but I did have a childless shopping trip tongue.gif

Been spending money again! Had to go pick up a layby so that my niece could have a present on the weekend laugh.gif then decided I should check out Myer in case of further reductions and what do you know, some clothes were 25% off the already marked down price biggrin.gif

So I got Taylor a long sleeve Espirit top, green for $10.50 for next year
Black 3/4 Milkshake pants size 4 (but a small 4) Gorgeous with embroidery on the back pockets for $15
Sprout silver parker $16.87. I had been eyeing off the parker for yonks, originally $39.95. Reduced to $25, then 25% off then an additional 10% off due to a dirty mark on the sleeve (I asked about that biggrin.gif ) downside, I got it home and its the wrong size ohmy.gif I am such a wally, I will blame pregnancy brain. I never usually trust the coathanger size, am sure I checked the item, but no!
So I have telephoned all the north/south Myers in town and what do you know, I have tracked down a size 2...........the only one left. How lucky am I. So off to pick that up tonight. I don't think hubby was impressed with my shopping but who cares!

Also got my youngest nephew his Christmas present, winter jacket (navy and very thick/warm), long sleeve button up shirt and long cargoes for just under $50 in total. He will be 2 next year.

And got tights for Taylor from PP and a purple/grey striped top. Had to take advantage of 50% off second item wink.gif

Mish, glad Delaney had a great time............was there any doubt? laugh.gif Hope she doesn't want to sleep with her hat and tail tonight wub.gif

Megs, too cute! Alex doesn't know hat a shimmy shake is, he does love Dorothy though!

Mish, you poor thing! I had horror migraines during the 2nd trimester, so not fun! I think you are right, you just manage, you don't have a choice!

Amy, I'll give salty water a go, willing to do whatever works! Good job on the shopping, I might go out tomorrow to Brookside and see what they've got. I love, love, love Sprout!

Nicki, will go and grab a copy of the recipe, they sound really yum!

My scan and OBs appt went well, all is good with bubs, a decent size, will probably end up about the same as Alex (8lb 4oz) give or take .5kg so happy with that, the head is a good size so nice to be having the c-sec tongue.gif Bub isn't engaged so OB is confident that he/she won't arrive before c-date. Ummm, can't think of anything else, I'm off to bed very shortly, so looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow!!! Mum and Dad are dropping Alex back around 4pm tomorrow so I've got the whole day to just chill!!!! We really are on the countdown now, only 1 more OBs appt before d-day!

Here is a pic of my little bubba wub.gif

Rosa, I can't believe how close you are getting. Not long to go now. That picture is gorgeous. Yes the thought of having two is daunting but you will be fine and cope. Really I think the first 6 to 10 weeks are the hardest and it is good that you will have the support of your mum and dad. Hopefully you will have some nice people drop you off some food too. Take all the help you can get and don't worry about the housework. Involve Alex is as much as you can. I know he is a boy but he may still enjoy this - I got Jess a little bag and put in baby nappies, empty powder bottle, wipes, cotton balls etc and when I was changing Jaz she would change her baby. I also gave her some wraps and can remember walking around the house with a screaming Jaz with Jess following behind trying to comfort her baby as well.

Nicki - vegie nuggets sounds good to me. May have to pass the recipe on.

Megs - the dance classes sounds great.

Mich - you poor girl. Seems like it is one thing after another. Make sure you rest up today and take things easy.

Amy - hope you feel better soon and Taylor stays sleeping to 7am. Good shopping trip by the sounds of it.

Not much happening over this side. Jaz is trying to drop her day sleep already which I am not happy about. She doesn't sleep at kindy but 'rests' and this week she had a day sleep on Wednesday only. Think it was Amy who said that they play you up and is different with hubby. Jaz certainly knows how to pull my buttons. She woke up alot last night but we aren't sure why, at first hubby was going in and resettling and then I went in and straight away she was standing up and asking for cuddles and didn't want me to leave. I ended up taking her into bed because it was just so cold and we went back to sleep.

I will send a photo through Amy - can you pm me your email address please. Don't be a great one though as they wiped my work computer and I lost all the photos but think I have some on email.

Amy, I think there is a bit of resemblance there... I had a look at Alex's 34 week scan pic and looks similar but Alex wasn't as chubby in the cheeks. I'm going to take a baby pic of Alex with me into hospital so we can compare once bub is born! Brookside is my local Amy, that's where I am off to this morning to check out the clothes!

Tracey, I've already started stocking up the freezer, I've also given Mum one of my cards so they can go shopping for me and I don't have to worry about getting money to them etc. I've asked Mum and Dad to come over at lunch times so that I can have some lunch in peace and have a nap if need be, they'll also help to get something on for dinner so I don't have to worry too much about it. I love the idea of a change bag for Alex, he already has a baby that he pats on the back and looks after! I hope it's just a stage she's going through and she doesn't drop the day sleep already, I'm so not ready for Alex to drop his, he still has 2 hours every day so I think we are safe for a while. If he does resist I tell him Mummy is going for a sleep and he settles really easily!

Anyway, am off shopping now. See you all later this afternoon!

Hope you had a nice time shopping Rosa!

Tracey, I hope Jaz starts to get back into day sleeping. Yep it was me that said that Taylor tries it on with me but not Daddy. I've resorted to giving her the odd toy or two to take to bed to distract her so I can escape! laugh.gif Isn't it weird how in the night the first sight of us they are wanting uppies, cuddles etc. But not for Daddy? wacko.gif

Had Taylor's follow-up at the GP this morning. They kept us waiting forever! Taylor kept herself entertained by stalking another little girl who had a talking Upsy Daisy. Taylor had taken her Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle with her, but they weren't good enough laugh.gif I hate it when she does that at the doctors because I worry about what the other people will think re: spreading germs. She even tried to climb on the girls chair with her at one point.
Was glad to see that the toys they normally have there are gone, woohoo! the other girls Mum was glad to see them gone too laugh.gif

So anyway. She still has what appears to be some fluid in the right ear, but the doctor said it could just as easily be a bubble of air. But that there was no need to continue any further meds........and just to have her checked again in about 6 weeks. I asked about swimming and she said there is no reason not to take her next week. That you can't put life on hold 'just in case'.

She commented on Taylor's eye injury while there, which made her really focus on it and the 'in-turn' that she seems to have. We had noticed it before, but it's not something that you see permanently and only one other person has ever mentioned it before (a MCHN). So she gave us a referral to a Paed Opthamologist. Have booked in for early September (earliest we could get and the preferred guy has closed his books so couldn't go there!)

We had guys here this morning doing a survey on our house. We are participating in the Solar Home Program where we pay a couple of hundred dollars and get solar electricity panels installed. They said the installation would be done this weekend or next week and then all that needs doing is the electricals.
Going to be doing the Solar Hot Water Program too. I think that begins in July.

Have been reading up on strabismus (what the gp suspects it is) and am feeling terrible that we haven't acted sooner. When I told hubby he reckons he has noticed it getting worse.
Am worried the reason she hit her eye on the drawer the other day is because she couldn't see it with that eye............certainly hope not.

Hope that Taylors eye is fine Amy! Don't beat yourself up.... You know I still havnt booked Emily in for her tear duct blockage op yet?? That was oh, about 14 months ago that they asked me to book her in..... Ooooops! Glad to hear that she is on the mend now!

Rosa - OMG! What a cute bubba! Chubby little cheeks are so cute! Sounds like your Mum and Dad will be a big help when # 2 comes along!

Tracey - Hope that Jaz starts sleeping again in the day (is it a longshot?) Emily is really really cutting back on hers - most days we are lucky to get 30-60 minutes but I would be FRAZZLED if she had nothing!

Just copied and pasted from the April Mums thread:
My big girl gave all of her dummy's to the dummy fairy today! She has bad excema around her mouth where the dummy sits and I just decided what the hell, she is over 2 now so lets give it a shot! So I told her that the dummy fairy was coming and if she gave all of her dummies away the fairy would bring her a present after her sleep.... She asked for fairy wings and a fairy bell (a la 'The Fairies').... She had her day sleep at Nana's today and gave away all of Nanas dummies so when she woke up there were some wings waiting for her..... Tonight at home she gave away all of our dummies and when she wakes up in the morning there will be a bell waiting for her! I am so proud of her, she didn't even get upset!

Thanks NIcki. I know I shouldn't worry until we have seen the specialist and see what they say.

That is so great about Em and her dummies! so cute that she wanted the wings and bell wub.gif

Now that I am mentioning Taylor's eye to people they tell me, ooh yeah I have noticed that and have been meaning to say something (family)
I was constantly watching her today at a party and it is so noticeable now it isn't funny.

That's what I'm glad about Mish. When I first rang the woman said October. When I called back I was told by another lady Sept/Oct then she offered me early September, crazy. So just over 2 months which should go quickly.

Aaaw poor Maddie. She can sit back and giggle when No.3 starts doing it to Delaney biggrin.gif Hope work goes quickly for you.

We went to my nieces 5th birthday party today. Taylor enjoyed herself.

Amy, glad to hear that you got an appointment relatively quickly, in specialist terms anyway! Alex has one eye which is slightly bigger than the other, it's not as noticable now but I've always mentioned it to the medical professionals when we've seen them and they just say that it's something he'll grow into. My dad is the only one who has commented on it so not sure if nobody else has noticed or if they don't want to say anything.

Nicki, how is day 2 without the dummies? I hope it's going well!

Mish, I bought a few things at Myer, could have gotten heaps more but wanted to get bigger sizes and not sure how big bub will be or what size during summer etc... I've got the shopping bug at the moment, a good alternative to nesting I think laugh.gif Poor Maddie, maybe when bub arrives Delaney will leave her alone for a while!

I spent the day in bed today, trying to take advantage of Scott being home. He and Alex went out grocery shopping this morning, Scott got Alex a chocolate dinosaur donut, Scott asked for a bite but Alex wouldn't share, he picked up what was left of the donut, gave Scott the wrapper and said 'all gone'. Too funny!

We had our first family taco night tonight, Alex loved the tacos, hasn't quite grasped the concept of eating the burrito from the top down (just randomly biting sides!) and especially loved the 'cado' (avocado) and 'crem' (sour cream). Alex and I shared a yogo for dessert and he went to bed a very happy boy!

Not much doing tomorrow, more of the same relaxing, might go for a drive to a park somewhere tomorrow if I'm feeling better, Scott's trying to wrap heaps of work up before bub arrives and they have a huge campaign launching tomorrow night so it'll be a very busy week next week! Alex will stay at mum and dads on Tuesday and they'll come around during the week to give me a break if I need it.

I just can't believe that it's less than 2 weeks till the c-sec date. Feels really weird knowing bub's birthday (unless bub decides that earlier is better!), only mum and dad know as they'll be watching Alex while I'm in hospital.
