I can't decide what to have at my wedding as we walk back down the aisle.
I am thinking either Rose Petals or Bubbles but can't decide what would be better?

Just wondering what people's experiences have been? Did you get good pictures? etc

Thanks

I had rose petals and loved them. I thought the photos turned out great, with lots of people laughing as they were throwing them at us.
With rose petals it is a lot easier for your guests to co-ordinate throwing them at the same time. I've been weddings with the bubble and noticed that you really have to have quite a few people blowing enthusiastically all at the same time for it to make a decent atmosphere, it helps if you have lots kids as they love doing that. I found that most men were'nt that keen on blowing bubbles so didn't, but I saw lots of guys throwing rose petals at the weddings that had them.
If your venue doesn't allow rose petals I guess that bubbles are a good alternative, but if they allow both I would definitley go for the petals.
I did see one wedding in a magazine that had bubbles and you could actually see them - the bride using one of those bubble machine gun things though!!

I went to one wedding where they gave out tiny little ringing bells that we all rang as they walked down - it was a hit!! I've heard of weddings where the guests had little sticks with streams of white ribbons tied to them, and they waved them in the air as the bride and groom walked down - that would have looked great.

Be careful with bubbles... if you don't get the proper liquid, it can stain you dress and the BMs dresses.

I want rose petals for my wedding.

We had rose petal strewn along the aisle... we didn't have anything thrown as such. We got married in a beautiful garden at a heritage listed house and part of the hire contract stated that there would be a hefty clean up fee for anything throwing other than rose petals. When we sent out the invitations, we included an information sheet about the venue saying that rice, confetti, birdseed etc were banned at the venue.

BTW, I would be wary of using bubbles because I get a rash if the mix comes into contact with my skin. We actually had 2 children (DH's niece and nephew) who blew bubbles against my wishes (they weren't even invited, but that's a whole other issue) and I felt like I had to dodge them. It looks cool but you don't want to discover on the day that you come out in blotches. JMO.

I'm sure whatever you choose will be lovely.

We were greedy and had both biggrin.gif We gave half the guests bubbles and half cones of rose petals, they both look fantastic in photos IMO. Will see if I can dig up some of our photos.

I had rose petals along the aisle, but our guest blew bubbles as we were leaving. I've got a few photos. I'll dig some up.

And for some reason I can't find any bubble shots right at the minute!

we had nothing. I figured for such a short ceremony it wasn't worth it, plus there was a ceremony straight after ours so someone would have had to clean the mess up etc and I couldnt find anyone to do it.
