I am watching a show called Most Haunted, set in the UK where mediums go to haunted places and have contact with those passed over.
Just interested to know who has had an experience like this, or do we have any mediums here?

I used to watch that show too smile.gif

I've had some things happen to me at my sisters old house. I always felt uncomfortable in their spare room and the hallway just outside it, like someone was watching you. Well when my sister went on her honeymoon, my hubbie (then boyfriend smile.gif ) were house sitting for her. We both came back from a night out and we both needed to go to the toilet. My hubbie went into the main toilet and I went into the ensuite in my sister's bedroom. The ensuite was next to the spare room and when I was in there I heard a moaning sound coming from the room. When my hubbie came back in the room I told him what happened and then we heard footsteps down the hallway. They also had a sensor light in the hallway which would turn on when you were walking down it and that also turned on by itself as we heard the footsteps, we then heard the footsteps go into my nephew's room and then heard the blinds in there move. Needless to say it freaked us out.
A funny thing also is that I was having a conversation about my sister's house and both my parents and one of my friends said they felt uncomfortable at the exact same spot. The rest of the house felt fine, just that hallway near the spare room and the bathroom vanity.
My sister also woke up quite a few times in that house and saw a tall man standing at the foot of her bed and my nephew used to hear people talking.
I'm glad she doesn't live there any more smile.gif
I've seen some things at my place, but I haven't felt threatened the same way that I did at my sister's house. Actually there was only one time where I felt threatened, but since that one time, I feel very comfortable. I find every now and then I feel the need to take a photo and whenever I do, there is an orb in the photo. I don't think it's my camera, as I don't get them in the photo's that often, and it always seems to be in my bedroom.

I've also been on a couple of ghost tours and have experienced different things there.

Have you had an experiences?

I find this stuff fascinating. My sister is somewhat of a medium herself. Its been incredible the things she has sensed and seen.

Yeah it fascinates me too, but kinda freaks me out a little bit as well smile.gif

It runs in our family on my mum's side. My great grandmother could see people and my Aunt and Cousin also see people as well as my sister. My sister also has premonitions in her dreams sometimes. I tend to see things at the corner of my eye only, but I get feelings and hear things rather than see things. I think I'm kinda glad I don't see things - I know it freaks my sister out.

I think everyone has the potential to tap into that sort of stuff, but some people like Mediums and clairvoyants are more naturals at it.

when my grandma died and my uncle was ill, my sister was housesitting for him.
Grandma used to 'visit' all the time.. the stove would be on, draws pulled out, the phone off the hook etc.

I haven't witnessed anything personally, but members of my family certainly have.

1. When my dad's father died, my dad's mum saw him under the clothes line in the backyard. Several years later, after we'd moved house, he visited our new house - Mum saw him standing at the foot of her's and Dad's bed and got a feeling from him that he was acknowledging the change of address and letting her know he was still watching over them. I'd say "us," but he died before I was born (I'm the oldest), so I don't know whether he knew/knows about me and my sister or not, if that makes sense?

2. My dad's mum bought an old house that had previously been owned by an ancestor in Bendigo and we used to go and stay with her on occasion. My sister HATED staying in one of the spare rooms - she felt extremely uneasy in there. We found out later that someone had died in that room. Also, when my dad was there once, he couldn't sleep and was sitting at the dining table when he felt a presence, but he said he wasn't scared, as it was quite calming.

3. After my mum's mum died, my grandfather told us that he'd woken up one night with Grandma lying beside him. She was looking at him and told him that everything would be ok. My grandfather was a country boy and wouldn't tell porkies about that sort of stuff, so that really freaked me out! I miss her so badly still sad.gif

4. Dad SWEARS that he has spirits in his house in Melbourne. He's had a friend of a friend visit who is very tuned in to the spiritual world and she felt the presence of a number of souls. One apparently is the guy that used to own the cross-saw that Dad has hanging up on the lounge room wall - apparently the guy is proud as punch his saw is being displayed. Dad also used to get a strong whiff of perfume in his bedroom on occasion - he lived on his own. Also, he has felt "negative" vibes from another spirit which he thinks is his mother - they didn't exactly get on.

Me? I'm quite sceptic. Mum's into all that paranormal stuff and Dad's just a bit weird sometimes wink.gif My sister, well, she's strange too tongue.gif As I said, the one that freaked me out the most was my grandma visiting Papa.

About the only experience I recall is just after one of our dogs, Bess, died. I thought I saw her in the backyard. Now I can't remember if she vanished or I took a second look and realised it was one of her daughters, my dog Cassie. Cassie did bare a fair resemblance in her markings to her mother.

The strange thing about the family members whose presence has been witnessed is that you could say that all of them died fairly earlyish. My dad's dad had been a POW in Changi in WWII and it wrecked his health - he died at 60. Mum's mum died at 79 from a misdiagnosed infection which turned septic (stupid bloody doctor - I'm still seething about it, 4.5yrs on). My dad's mum died at 77 from a stroke.
