Yea they are. It was the whole experience we got recommended to stay in the bures which were old and horrible and filthy looking. We would of much rathered stay at snorklers cove we didnt care about kids being around. The service was horrible i thought they were rude and not welcoming. And as it was a bad exchange rate we couldn't go exploring or anything so we stayed at the resort for 10 nights ph34r.gif We were so close to going home about 4 days in we were both really home sick. We were kicking ourselves as we should of went to bali and got more for our money. sleep.gif

Oh sorry to hear you had a bad time.

We didn't find anything bad at all. The service we got was absolutely fantastic. They couldn't do enough for anyone. We stayed in the new apartments which were absolutely gorgeous, but we had booked the bures and got upgraded. Other people there (there were about 5 of us couples all on our honeymoons that met up pretty much every night for cocktail hour by the pool tongue.gif ) were happy with their bures too. There were only 2 of us couples who were in the new apartments.

I can't believe it's changed that much in only 2 years!

I do agree with you that it's not that cheap, you pay for most things what you'd expect to pay in Australia, but we expected that so didn't get a surprise there.

Although having said that we were there for 8 nights, and we spent maybe $2000 over in Vanuatu and we did HEAPS. Obvoiusly every meal, we went on a deep sea fishing charter one day, did a waterfall tour, a snorkelling trip, a sunset champagne cruise, a traditional village tour thing and a couple of other things...

We're planning to go back to Vanuatu again in the next couple of years (well actually that WAS the plan, now that we've got a baby on the way, that might never happen biggrin.gif )

The quality of the meals at Iririki was good and there seemed to be a good range of choices.. but generally the food prices had gone up. Friends who had been at the same restaurants a few months back paid heaps less.. I would assume that the financial crisis is partially responsible for the increases.

It wasn't a cheap holiday for us, but we did plenty of resting (perfect for a babymoon), reading, byo'd a laptop to watch movies (no tvs at breakas), and did a couple of snorkelling day trips (Coongoola cruise was my fave).

Despite the prices of food, we had a great time. Bella, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your trip.

wowie i am sooo glad that this was posted to read!! we just booked our honeymoon to stay 6 nights at Iriki and 6 nights at Breakas so all of this info is priceless to us.....
i am now a bit unsure of what to expect> the early morning construction!!? and the crappy rooms>> dont they treat you special on your HM? i always imagined they would...
i guess we should start saving now for fund so we can afford to pay for the meals!! and the day trips...
i know that everyone is saying good and bad, i guess all we can do is just cross or fingers, that it will be more good than bad (and note to self bring laptop for movies!!)

BTW meegielee we are almost wedding twins!! maybe we will see you in Vanuatu hopefully having a lovely time..... smile.gif
let me know how all you plans are going you might remind me of something i havent done yet>> epp!

It's a bit late but I was in Vanuatu in May this year and I absolutely loved it. We stayed at Irriki in one of the Garden Bures and couldn't have been happier. Whilst the ones over the water look absolutely stunning the noise from the boat I imagine would become a bit much when it's running 24/7. We were travelling in a group and one of them got upgraded to the newer appartments and rang reception and said that he didn't want his upgrade he wanted to be in a Bures after seeing ours!

We didn't find Irriki that expensive at all - the meals were absolutely beautiful and well priced. We charged everything back to our room including meals, drinks, tours etc and paid the bill at the end which was alot cheaper then we thought it was going to be. Breakfast is included and there is plenty to choose from. You can also purchase an Irriki pass for $80 which is lots of two for one offers on different stuff including food.

We read lots on online forums about how dirty and old Irriki was but I can say that we didn't find that at all. We couldn't fault our room or it's condition and the staff went out of their way to do anything for us. They are exceptionally friendly and bend over backwards for us (including showing us a night on the town).

My only advise is not to go to the mainland on the day that the cruise boat comes in. The shops are packed and the prices at the markets increases dramatically. They will generally ask if you are from the boat but you need to say that you are staying in Villa. The Markets and fresh fruit market are fantastic. Also if you need a supermarket there is one just next the fresh fruit market that sells brands that you will recognise - I was so excited when I found it. The duty free alcohol (we paid $20 AUS for 1ltr baileys) and tobacco (winfield $23 per carton) is really good but make sure you know your perfume prices if you intend on getting some of that as some of mine were cheaper to buy here.

We went on the dirt buggies which was really good going through the main areas of Villa and out to the villages. Take some lollies - the kids love it. They are so polite though, they only want one and if they get more then one then they will hand them to others that didn't get one. Lots of snorkelling (hideaway is fantastic), swimming, sightseeing etc.

Vanuatu is absolutely without a doubt a beautiful area. Enjoy!!

I do not know of to NY Escort many limits widths in southern California and because of this the only choice as fare as i am concerned NY Escorts would be the RZRs. There have been many people that have posted on this forum on the RZR NY Asian Escorts question and most answers NY Asian Escort can be answered by doing a search here.
