Congratulations! You won't regret it!
Well my thread & other threads of our honeymoons in vanuatu have been deleted - which is a shame cos i posted pics n stories...
But basically it's PURE BEAUTY... you will love it!
Feel free to ask any questions - happy to answer...
We stayed at Breakas Beach Resort - which I think is the only place I will stay however I have insiders info on plenty of places over there!
We will be going back again xx

How lucky are you!!!!!

I've never been to Vanuatu, but I would take any honeymoon anyone was willingto pay for laugh.gif !!!!

Maybe you could check out the Lonely Planet Guide for that region, they are full of all sorts of useful info and it will give you an insight into the culture as well. You can probably afford one now you you don't have to find all that extra cash!

Congratulations you lucky girl!~!!

Can I tell you when I get back in four weeks time? laugh.gif

We're off to Breakas for a 12 day holiday. I'd be happy to report back with pics when we return, if you'd like.

On our honeymoon we went around the islands of Vanuatu on a cruise. It was absolutely amazing. You'll never tire of things to do. Plus it really wasn't that expensive either. I found in Port Vila, it was cheaper to purchase things in AU$ then Vartu$ and they would suck up to you big time.

Snorkling, Glass Bottom Boats, Waterfalls, Shopping. You'll be fine smile.gif

Vanuatu is fantastic!!!!! We stayed at Iririki resort and loved it. Whenever we wanted to go to Vila we would just catch a boat across to the main island. The people are so lovely and friendly and absolutetly willing to help you with anything.

There's heaps to do there as well. We did everything that B.Skene said above ^^^^^ And also a sunset cruise which was nice and romantic wub.gif I'd highly recommend going!!

Sorry but im going to be the downer. We stayed at the ir!riki resort and it was horrible. Bad rooms, bad service and it was expensive!!

But if your staying somewhere else it will prob be better than our experience. Good luck!!!!

We went to Vanuatu April 2007 for our honeymoon and it was FANTASTIC!!!!

We stayed at Iririki and I cannot recommend them enough. We were in the new units part rather than the older style hut and it was awesome! There's a 2 person spa out on the balcony and the balcony is made of glass so you just sit in the spa and look at the ocean and other islands whilst sipping chilled wine....mmmmm bliss...

The food was divine too, we ate pretty much every meal on Iririki, I think we only ate off the island like twice, for lunches.

The ferry runs 24 hours and only takes like 2 or 3 mins to get across.

I loved loved LOVED every minute. We will definitely be going back.

You are going to have a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!

we went for our babymoon a couple of months back, staying at Breakas.

We loved the very friendly ni-van people and their regular laughter (as a group, they seem such happy people generally!)

Breakas was lovely - we stayed in a beach front fare, but it was super basic.

No air con, no tv, no room service in our fares. Lovely but simple.

There's a fair bit of construction going on at Breakas at the moment, so we were woken up by concrete mixers and people on the work site a bit.. that said, it was a lovely spot. Breakfast was also fairly basic - bready things and fresh fruit, but there was plenty.

Food in Port Vila was very expensive. $25 for a cheap pasta up to about $40 for a lot of mains. We didn't find a lot of cheap options, and even the supermarket was very pricey.

Highlight for us was the Coongoola day cruise and the snorkelling we did. We did a couple of day trips but Coongoola was the best.

Aside from that, in terms of relaxation it was wonderful.

If you want room service and aircon, I would probably think about Iririki, if you want more natural beauty and a small resort feel Breakas was great. smile.gif

We have booked 11 nights in Vanuatu for our honeymoon in September and i cannot wait! I would recommend if you haven't booked shop around and talk to a few travel agents as many of them have been there more then once and stayed at numerous resort. My travel agent had been there 4 times and even shared some personal photos!

The other thing i recommend if you haven't booked accomodation which has helped me in other trips i have taken as well as planing my honeymoon is check out tr1p @dv1sor. They have reviews from all the resorts by people who actually have stayed there.

But we are spending 4 nights at sunset bungalows and then 7 nights at le lagoon all inclusive.

But thanks to everyone for the advice! smile.gif

Gee, now I'm kinda glad we just stayed on our own resort for all our meals, nowhere near that expensive at the restaurants on Iririki...plus the food was DELISH!!
