I've been told it can take up to a year for a divorce to be granted. It's pretty straightforward - no kids or division of assets.

Does anyone know? sad.gif

You have to have been separated for a period of 12 months before you can file for divorce. Once you've done this, it takes about 2 months for the hearing.

Yep we've been separated for over two years now so no worries there. It's just the actual granting of the divorce I was worried about.

You should get a court date within 3mths where you will be issued with a decree nisi. 30 days after that you will receive a decree absolute and you will be divorced

Once you lodge the papers a court date will be set (usually around 2-3 months after the lodgement date).

After your court date, if a divorce is granted, it takes effect 28 days after the date of the court hearing.
