This is a really tough one, I've had a tune stuck in my head all morning, and I can't think what it's called/who played it.

To make it really difficult, it's an instrumental piece so I can't help with lyrics. I'm pretty sure the whole song is instrumental, though there's only a portion in my head though.

What I do know:

* I know it's a pretty recognizable tune
* It's played on a horn of sorts
* I'm positive it's from a late 80s/early 90s film (probably romantic comedy)
* For a while it was played on popular radio, I know I've heard it on Triple M in the early hours of the morning
* It's not songbird by Kenny G from Pretty Woman, but has a somewhat similar sort of feel

No, it's not that one, but perhaps a similar sort of feel. Although, I never knew the name of that song before, thanks for that smile.gif

It's not Dire Straits "Why Worry" has a long intro of sax and wind instruments? It's slow and romantic...

St Elmos Fire also had lots of instrumental music that made it into the charts in the 80's.

Hope that helps a bit...

Could it be:

Kenny G - Forever in Love

or

Kenny G - Ava Maria

Both are popular wedding songs

It has a horn like sound but its actually a soprano saxophone.

Try youtube and search some of Kenny G's songs - it sounds like it could be him

Thanks for the suggestions! Still haven't got it yet though. At least the tune is out of my head, now I'm just trying to work out what it was smile.gif

I still haven't worked out what this song is!

I'm starting to wonder if it's just an instrumental part of another song.

I wouldn't call it a particularly slow song, but it's not upbeat either.

No, it's much less upbeat sounding, maybe somewhere between 'romantic' and 'wistful'

Can you sing/hum it and post it up briefly on you tube for us to listen to? LOL I know that might be a bit embarrassing, but I'd like to help solve the riddle!

Lol! I would if I could carry a tune! I could probably try and play it if my keyboard hadn't decided to die after 20 years yesterday smile.gif

I finally found the song today! It was in The Simpsons episode 'Lisa's Sax'.

It's called Baker Street, by Gerry Rafferty.

Eta: which I just saw that Gretch asked a few months ago, doh!

lol, glad you worked it out in the end.

(PS, it has to be better than the German Shepard song (from the Ford Mondeo ad) that I have been singing all day)
