Well, not one of my proudest moments as a mum this morning....but OMG she is doing my head in!

My DD (11) has such a firey temper and can just fly off the handle at her brothers in the blink of an eye and I find myself being really angry with her.

I hate that i can't just be calm and explain why she can't scream at them and blame them for everything.........instead I get grumpy and go on and on about why her behaviour is wrong. sad.gif

Aaargggh!! I've been sitting here this morning feeling awful about how i handled it.

You're only human!

Perhaps you can share with her what you're feeling? And that it's normal to occasionally react out of anger and then even demonstrate how to make apologise/ make amends. Seems like parallel issues?

Please note I have no experience whatsoever! My own mother would consistently degenerate to name-calling and character attacks when under pressure. I promise myself regularly I will always be upfront and even sorry about my shortcomings / regrets etc.

I'm sure this isn't the situation for you guys but there is no shame in admitting to her you wish you handled something better.

Be gentle with yourself today and good luck

Thanks hon! I'm usually pretty good with her and have been thinking about what i'll say to her when i see her in the morning. An apology is definately in order!

Just today, for some reason I wasn't coping with the attitude and agro.

As my Dh says - you are the adult, behave like it smile.gif
