4) The luckiest ~ Ben Folds

How could I have neglected to mention this song? It was our wedding dance song and gets me every time.

Gosh that songs another tear jerker! When I was little living in NZ they used that song in a police ad which showed domestic abuse.

They also used this ad in Sydney a few yrs back I remember and I had to leave the room as it would make my eyes water!! tongue.gif

Another two that are so beautiful they stir me emotionally are:

The way you look tonight
At Last - Ella Fitzgerald

Scott & Di - Married In Vegas 30th Sept 2010... Just how we wanted it to be...
Elijah 'Eli' came into our world 3.11.11... And what a wonderful world it has been since then!

Time of Your Life - Greenday
(So cliche`, but it was played at our final assembly in year 12 and it brings back so many memories. I'm literally tearing up now and it was 8 years ago!)

Watch Over Me - Bernard Fanning
(Reminds me of loved ones no longer with us)

Leaving on a Jet Plane - ??
(This was played several times over the day my FIL passed away, so will forever remind me of that day)

I hope I didn't offend anyone, I didn't mean to diss brides who chose this as their walk down the aisle, in fact we're in the same boat as it was our song too. smile.gif

Oh my goodness, so many songs. But none more than 'Philadelphia' by Neil Young. It is the last song that is on the movie 'Philadelphia' when he's just died and it's showing everyone at his wake, and the old footage of childhood. I am listening to it right now and am bawling!! blush.gif

Also, the song 'Suddenly' by Angry Anderson. I know it was the song for Scott and Charlene's wedding tongue.gif but the song came out when I was 7 and always reminds me of when my guinea pig died. Since then it has just made me think of loss and I cry every time I hear it sleep.gif

Then there is the usual like 'Tears in heaven' by Eric Clapton, 'In the living years' by Mike & the Mechanics, and any song that mentions angels or God such as 'From a distance' by Bette Midler always makes me get teary.

Talk about over-emotional rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

Oh me too Tastebud! My beautiful mum got me hooked on Joni when I was little and that has always been a special song for me.

I also cry over the Luckiest - and always listen to it if DH and I have been snippy with each other.

Ordinary Miracle - Sarah McLachlan. It is the song from Charlotte's Web and I just love the video clip smile.gif .

Don't Ever - Missy Higgins

My Wish - Rascal Flats

A lot of Ben Folds songs make me cry. (I'm a bit obsessed with ben).

The latest song to make me bawl is "Caught in the Crowd" by Kate Miller-Heidke. Its track 3 on her new album. I guess it hits a bit too close to home for me.

Caught in the crowd.

There was a guy at my school when I was in high school
We’d ride side by side in the morning on our bicycles
Never even spoken or faced each other
But on the last hill we’d race each other

When we reached the racks we’d each go our own way
I wasn’t in his classes, I didn’t know his name
When we finally got to speak he just stared at his feet
And mumbled a sentence that ended with ‘James’

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn’t know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I’m sorry

If I could go back, do it again
I’d be someone you could call ‘friend’
Please, please believe that I’m sorry

Well he was quite a big guy, kinda shy and quiet
When the kids called him weird he didn’t try to deny it
Every lunchtime he’d spend just walking by himself
Round the boundary of the grounds til he heard the bell

Well one day I found him, joined him on his walk
We were silent for a while until we started to talk
I told him how my family were fighting in court
He said his stepdad and him always fought

We talked about music
He was into punk
He told me all the groups that I liked were junk
I said I’d never heard the songs the sex pistols sang
I laughed back at him and then the bell rang

I was young and caught in the crowd
Didn’t know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I’m sorry

If I could go back do it again
I’d be someone you could call friend
Please, please believe that I’m sorry

It was after school in the afternoon
The corridors were crowded as we came out the room
Three guys I knew pushed him into the cement
Threw away his bag and said he had no friends

He yelled that he did and he looked around
He tried getting up but they pushed him on down
That’s when he saw me, called out my name
And I turned my back, and just walked away
Yeah I turned my back, and just walked away

I was young and caught in the crowd
Didn’t know then what I know now
I was dumb, and I was proud
And I’m sorry

If I could go back do it again
I’d be someone you could call friend
Please, please believe that I’m sorry

Time to say goodbye - Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. Such an amazing soul stirring song.

This song also makes me cry even though it's about a couple in love leaving together.

Foolish games - Jewel

The Luckiest - Ben Folds
Time to Say Goodbye - Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman
Angel - Sarah McLachlan
I Miss You - Incubus

All these songs were played at our friend's funeral, although now often they're happy tears because they make me think of him.

Call Me Papa - Donovan Frankenreiter
Beloved One - Ben Harper

These songs remind me of my husband and my son. They always make me teary!
