We have a Home Equity loan with the Bendigo Bank (so think like a dirty great big overdraft that we can draw on our home at any stage and for any reason) and we're currently on 8.7% so we're hoping for it to come down a bit more.
Sometimes in an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale...

Oh man we are on 9.8% we have a low doc loan though so always a bit higher but our lender (wholesale lender) isnt passing on the 1% cut because they have funds invested in the US sad.gif I suppose I can just console myself by the fact that we only had 6 rate increases not 12 like everyone else..

did you see TT (grain of salt! hehe) about that woman who wanted to exit her home loan and they were going to charge $45k because she had split her loan into variable and fixed. so they treated it as 2 loans!

ok after my reading of my papers last night 8.03% including the .8% cut and not including the .2% from yesterday. so as of the 31 October ours will be 7.83%

as of yesterday's letter from the bank, 7.67%, with another rate cut yet to get to us. We're on a variable - started at 7.37, went up to 8.72, and heading down again. We would have been fine til about 10% before having to tighten our belts a lot, but the rate decrease is a bit welcome smile.gif

Hmmm, CBA haven't informed us of the latest drop - I must investigate. They had better be passing it on!

Are CBA still buying Bankwest ? They are probably trying to look good to the customers Bankwest already has laugh.gif

We have only been with Bankwest for a couple of months as we refinanced to get away from Suncorp.

Hubby said our loan from bankwest is set 1% below the average rate of the big 4 banks???

7.18% which just kicked in a week or so ago. Until last week it 8.9% so it's really just catch up for the obscene amount we were paying (we had an agreed discount with our bank of 0.7% below the standard variable rate). The way our mortgage works is that rate cuts/increases only get passed on every three months. DH did voice his displeasure to our relationship manager about the rate we were paying though.
