Oh this thread suits me too................can I join?

Don't know how many of you know my situation. I married in 2005, separated very soon after and am now divorced. I am now living with my lovely partner. I can definately see a future with us, so can he, but neither of us really feel the need to rush into getting married/engaged as I have been there done that.

So thanks Gem for starting this thread and here's to getting to know you lovely ladies better. biggrin.gif

P.S Beautiful Kylie.... please come and join............ it doesn't say "who/what" you have to be in love with!!

We just concentrate on having the best time together, being open and honest which has lacked with our previous partners.

I think this is the best thing to have come out of my rollercoaster ride. The fact that I can now realise what I'm worth and what I am entitled to and deserve from my partner. Scotty knew before we were even dating what my situation was (we were flatmates who became roommates wink.gif) and he helped me through some very dark times. I love the fact that he treats me with the respect that I deserve and that he doesn't judge me for what I've been through smile.gif

Bonus! Another Brisbane girl!! biggrin.gif How long have you been here? I've been here for almost 18 months now and don't plan on leaving!!

Me - Justine, turned the big 30 this year
B - 38 this year

He is far from the person I thought I would fall in love with. Hang on that sounds bad...but it isn't.

He keeps me in line. I have a habit of being fairly spoilt and emotional and he only lets me play this card for so long each day before pulling me into line. Exactly what I need!!

He has his head on straight, is emotionally stable and believes in being silly. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm in Qld, but far from Brissy, on the Atherton tablelands. Willing to travel though!!

I'm kinda in limbo betwen singledom and this thread, having only been in my relationship for a few months.

Me: Meg, 26
Him: Cam, 29
History: Married highschool sweetheart @ 21, separated in 2006 and divorced a year later. We were on and off the whole time we were separated, however was finished fr good when he met someone else and she was pregnant less than a month later... if it wasn't for that I am sure I'd still be stuck in limbo with him and now can see the good in it. Fell in love with my best mate and had a very stupid and whirlwind romance where we were engaged and living together within a matter of weeks, 2 months before the big day it ended very dramatically where I had a nervous breakdown. Almost a year later I am now healthy, stable and incredibly smitten with my man wub.gif

He and I met on RSVP and it was one of those 'this is the guy I'm going to end up with' moments when I first saw him. He's incredibly sexy and treats me (and Logan - son from previous marriage) so well; I actually feel like I've known him for a lot longer, we're very comfortable and content already and I love it wub.gif

Good Idea on the thread Gems smile.gif

QUOTE(* Kylie * @ Oct 10 2008, 01:56 PM) View Post

I'm way out in limbo land. I feel I don't fit in the single thread because I'm only just at the stage of even thinking of looking at guys, but also not in a relationship, so not even fitting into this thread!

Hmmm.... it's weird and I don't know what to make of it.

FYI Kylie, the single's thread is not all about meeting men and/or looking at guys. It's a thread on the ups and downs of being single and whilst me may take being single differently to you, it doesn't mean that you're not welcome.

There's a hell of a lot more to life than men; without one we're still strong and fabulous, so take pride in that and come join us wink.gif I would be completely lost without my single girls, they're the only ones who fully understand my life wub.gif

smile.gif I was away for two days and so many posts to read smile.gif

Ok well a brief run down on my and my scotty smile.gif

Me: 22 - 23 in March
Scotty: 23 - 24 in March
History - I was in a 4 year relationship with my ex from School (young love) We were moving in together and the day of i had an emotional breakdown and realized i didn't want to settle down and broke his heart... we had a terrible break up and went back and forth for months which in the end resulted in alot of therapy for me sad.gif Eventually he moved on and found someone else which gave me the closure i needed!!
I met scotty out one night with my Brother, he plays footy with him and they are very good friends. We hit it off and have been together ever since, we don't live together and i'm happy with that at the moment smile.gif We travelled overseas together for three months and always enjoy each others company smile.gif

I think i'm the only Sydney girl sad.gif I'm lonely!!

I had a hens weekend at the Hunter Valley this weekend (wine country) it was unbelievable!!!

Brilliant Thread Gemma !!!!

Me: 24
Him: 42 - Yep that's right he is 18 years older than me !

Bio : Was engaged at 18, for 3 years. I ended the relationship because I just didn't feel the love anymore, it more like friends, no sexual chemistry anymore.
I met Dave at work. I started this new job the day before ex and I split -We worked literally 10 steps away from each other. He helped me alot through the breakdown, always there with his shoulder for me to cry on. He was married at the time, and going through problems of his own, so we kinda helped each other. We didn't officially get together until Feb this year, and it has been unbelievable. I can't believe how happy and in love I am.
I was a bit wary to start with because of the age difference, but most of my girlfriends have met him and like him - so too the parents.

In two weeks time - 9 working days we are heading on our first holiday! I can't wait!! And we have already booked our next holiday in January to Adelaide to the watch the Tour Down Under and hopefully meet Lance Armstrong lol !!!

Awesome thread Gems! Hopefully there will be a few more qld girls!!
Nothing is more beautiful then the love that has weathered the storm of life.

~Jess and Dave riding together since 13 February 2008~
