A friend recently told me that all her friends had had at least one really big argument on their honeymoon and that I should prepare myself for this and don't think it means I've made a mistake. For those who'vebeen on their honeymoons, did this happen to you? What did you put it down to and how did you deal with it?

We were fine but we had been on overseas trips together before which helps. We had a few tired, mildly cranky moments (ok I did biggrin.gif) but no fights. It was a nice relaxing location though, nothing to fight over really!

No, no fights for us.

We did have a little fight the first full day we had been back from our honeymoon - It didn't really last long smile.gif

Ditto; no different than any other holiday really.

We didn't fight with each other - but our car was egged whilst on honeymoon (and hard boiled on the car all day in the sun before we found it)
So we were both very angry all that night - though we both know it was not aimed at each other - just the schoolies who ruined it for us!

Luckily we didn't go overseas - we just relaxed in a beach town which probably helped.

We didn't have any fights, but we did have a bit of a debacle that caused a lot of stress at the situation. Jon insisted on driving a vehicle we had hired, and crashed it on the first day we had it. I wasn't mad at him, I understood how it happened and it wasn't really his fault, but wow the situation went on for days dealing with a dodgy rental guy and the money involved to fix the thing (he was milking it for all it was worth and more), so it was very was stressful! We got it all back on our travel insurance though. Thankgod for travel insurance! It was such a stressful event Jon is still upset about it now. (Partly because I was thrown from the vehicle and he felt responsible for what could have happened to me.)

So no fights as such, but for a few days out of the 10 days there was a LOT of stress!

We had a tiny little tiff that lasted maybe 5 minutes. We were lost in the middle of some back alleyway in Thailand and I think we were both frustarated and scared. Once we found our way back to where we wanted to go we laughed about our little tiff.

I voted one big argument but it wasn't really an argument and it wasn't really that big but I was in tears anyway. We were in Venice and we were waiting for our train to Florence. I had to go to the bathroom, there was a very long line and I didn't realise how long the line was until I had already paid and gone through the turnstile I wasn't going to turn around and waste my 2 Euros. I was in the queue for almost an hour! I didn't think it woukld take that long. When I got back he was very upset and annoyed as he couldn't look around as he had all our suitcases. Our train arrived and he left me on the bloody platform! He got on the train with his suitcase without saying a word to me, in fairness he could only carry one suitcase at a time but he could have at least said "I'll be back" or whatever. There was no way I could carry my suitcase up the steps of the train. I thought he'd left me to fend for myself. There I was standing in front of the steps thinking that the train is going to leave without me while trying to fight back tears and trying to work out how I'm going to lift up my suitcase when he tapped me on the shoulder and asked me what's wrong. What's wrong?! He was going to leave me on my own in Venice (although I can think of worse places to be left at) on our honeymoon! So I finally burst into tears and squeaked in between sobs "You were going to leave me." He felt bad and hugged and kissed me and took my suitcase, got on the train and got lots of cuddles all the way to Florence. I like to remember that incident as the spice to our honeymoon smile.gif.

No more so than any other overseas trip. Slight claustrophobia and a fear of flying - I am not a particularly good traveller blush.gif

We had a idealistic honeymoon too. I find it a little weird that this girl believes everyone has a fight and told you to prepare for it! blink.gif
Who goes around saying that on the best time of your life, prepare for bad things?
If it happens it happens, but come off it! If you're both not able to gel well together and get through it then you probably shouldn't have been together in the first place.

I can't recall if we had any arguments. Certainly not major enough to remember. We went to a relaxing location though- had we been on a trip through Europe or something, there would have been plenty to argue about! laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

Well - we didn't quite make it to our honeymoon before we had our first big fight!! The day after our wedding was my soccer grand final and we had to leave to catch a plane at half time so we had a lot of preparing to do - it was just stressful and lead to a 'let off steam' argument but it was over in 10 minutes. I don't think everyone argues though - so relax and don't worry about it!!
