Im sure it can be done... can someone tell me what e6 is?

E6 is a Kodak process for development of colour reversal film (aka; slide or transparency). All manufacturers of colour slide film now design their films to be processed under this standard.

Incidentally, C41 (again a Kodak standard adopted by others) is the process for development of colour negative film - used to make colour prints at your local minilab.

Cross Processing is often mistakenly referred to as "E6". It is achieved by processing an exposed colour slide film (normally processed in E6) in C41 chemistry - producing a colour negative as described above.

Maybe your photographer has a decent negative scanner and will scan them in and then digitally alter them??? You can do heaps with Photoshop and stuff.....
And I think you only lose a teeny tiny bit of quality, if they have a really hight wuality neg scanner.

Sorry you're having so many probs with this hon. I hope it all turns out well for you.

You wouldn't have any luck with fair trading i don't think.

when you say you want e6, do you mean you want regular photos from that film (you can print regular photos from correctly processed slides...outstanding quality) or do you want the 'cross-processed' look?

you can manipulate photos taken with film, they just have to be put on cd.

forget asking her to help you choose the photos...the only advice you'll get is technical. ask your friends and family to help choose with this in mind....

if the photo looks at all blurry or grainy at the proof size, it will look even worse when enlarged. keep it simple!

good luck!

our photographer is charging us a standard fee and then $100 an hour for additional hours.

this seems fairly common amount per hour, and that includes taking photos.

so $200 an hour is way over the top.

we will also own the negatives as they will be given to us on a cd.

our proofs are in an album with pocket pages .

we are doing our own album, but i can see having 100 photos in it. although we will probably have 3-5 photos 6x4 a page. in a scrapbook.

be careful as your price probably only includes a certain number of pages, and the rest will cost big time, not just for the photos but the pages themselves.

Janine,

Many girls here know that I had the photographer from hell - got in the paper about it too!!!! it is an incredibly long story, but many elements are the same as yours.

Double check your contract as to exactly what it includes. We were short changed on print proofs also, which is what started our hellish journey.

He gave us a sheet of paper with a mockup of matt layouts and we then picked our album shots from the proof album. We went through this with him - no charge - and I think this is pretty normal.

As i say, check your contract and anything else you have in writing and call her on it. She might be bluffing to get more $$$ because as we know wedding pics are a bit emotional and we brides and grooms are more likely to back down. We were given a price sheet BEFORE we signed the contract, and while they weren't cheap at least we knew up front. it didn't matte rin our case as we didn't end up getting any reprints through him and now he has vanished into a black hole mad.gif

She must have gone to customer service school with mine - I hope for your sake she doesn't go loopy.

I think $18 or more for a standard size 6 X 4 print is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!

Our photographer is charging us $7 each I think, less if we order in bulk.

But then, he's aslo giving us our photos on CD so we can take it down to the mini lab and do it ourselves for 47c

I cannot believe that you are being charged $200 an hour to put together your album, actually I cannot believe that you are being charged in the first place.

We were never charged an hourly rate for going through all of the photos with the photographer and we were there for about 6 hours the first time and then several hours the 2 others times after that. That was part of the package. You get so many pages in the album and they help you put the album together.

Come to think of it, at the time that we were looking, none of the photographers charged an hourly rate to put the album together.

To me that really sounds suss but perhaps things have changed in the photography industry since we got married.

Is there a 3rd party you can talk to about this or can you perhaps report her to the APIA (I think that is what it is, someone please correct me if I am wrong) which is the photographers association.

Wow...
Maybe it's cos I'm in the country but we're paying $900 for our phographer who will be with me from 9am to midnight, take approx 10 rolls of piccies in B&W and colour, make up 2 albums and hand over the negatives and load them onto CD for us, and that's all included as standard.

She's a fantasic photographer too, her portfolio is stunning, I have also seen 3 friends albums that were done by her and coudn't pic a fault in any of their piccies.
Well there's far too many questions to ask, to answer all of them tonight.
For I wear, too many masks, to tell if any of them are wrong or right.
And confusion casts a shadow upon me, like a great big cloud in the sky.
And now I pray for rain, cause it's been so long since I let myself cry ~

For so long, I've sang this sad ole song. And it feels like my time is up.
For she came and landed in my arms, and she filled my half empty cup.
Now I look up above me
and I thank that Great Old God in the sky, for telling me my cup ain't half empty.

Just took my little girl to show me why ~

That is an unbelievable deal.

It always amazes me how little profit (or in this case a loss) some photographers are prepared to make...
