I Cates.
Not sure about where you live... but where i live there is a place called disability services. You can go to them and ask for some advice. They also offer respite, and assist people with disabilities with day to day duties, i.e. taking them to the shops, social outings etc etc. They also have different programs that they run, like art and craft just as an example.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I know a bit about genetic testing. Not for this particular condition though.
I can only go by my story. They have to have discovered the gene for a certain condition first. ( a gene fault) Then the test is a blood test and they check your blood for the gene in question. In my case it was a breast cancer gene that I have past onto my daughter sadly
We all inherit 2 genes for everything..one from mum and one from dad. So where ther is gene to be proven there is a fifty fifty chance on the child inheriting the gene.
I hope this was OK to understand sad.gif
From my understanding there could be more than one gene involved with autism, which would make it more complex than the gene my daughter and I have been tested for.
They do not know enough about it yet, sadly.

This is how old I amIPB Image
