We live in SA, and are getting married September 5th. We are staying in Australia, because we are headed to the USA in 2010 / 11 for an extended trip.

It was fantastic - was all inclusive except for alcohol and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend it. It was not as flash or pretentious as other islands I have stayed at like Hayman but it was great for us

If it were me, I'd probably like to do the Great Ocean road and stay the last day or two somewhere totally indulgent the last couple of nights.

Do you want to do anything in particular? (Apart from the obvious )
Someone mentioned Tassie - thought I should warn you though, that it's still very cold here in September. We're still only getting tops of about 14C during the day. It is a great place to tour around though, just don't expect to be particularly warm.
We'll be going to the Gold Coast for our honeymoon in Feb. We're booked in for a week at the Q1, and will most likely do the theme parks (again) I'm hoping this time we can go to the casino, the wildlife park, the beach in general, shopping in general, etc. Hopefully we'll manage to not book too much stuff in advance and plan our time to the last iota

We got married up there and stayed for a short honeymoon (couldn't be away from our little boy too long ).
There is sooo much to choose from up there. We decided to hire a car and tour around and do as much as possible while we had the chance but if you want to relax there are some amazing resorts up there.
With your honeymoon in September (same time as we were there), the weather is great!
You can choose from the rainforest, beaches, city, dry outback, adventure, relaxation, sight-seeing! the list is endless
If you want more info let me know because we saw quite a few places and I also did plenty of research before we went

I second that! Port Douglas has to be one of the most beautiful spots in Australia, the best time to go is our winter as the weather stays around 28 degrees
