Don't you just hate how everyone has to tell you how to raise your baby they are either to skinny and need more or to fat stop feeding them so much. Bugs me!

I had lots of problems in the IL telling my Zack was to skinny and needed to be put on formula put me under so much stress bc he was putting on weight and I thought he was getting plenty and it caused so many fights with DH! Was great with a newborn baby and just having surgery.

You know whats best for your child don't listen to them when they go on about your babies weight if u think it is all fine. PLease try not to second guess yourself!

With the formula I agree with everyone else don't water it down.

Hiya!

I think its fantastic that you asked other ppl rather than taking their advice straight off.

My bubba is FF and i wouldnt water down her formula. Sometimes i will give her a little less - im talking less than half a teaspoon - If its not right at 180ml or today there was a little bit of formula left in her dispenser thingo so i tried to match that amount and give her less that. It cant be good for them - It would mean it would go straight through them like water and wouldnt keep their tummies full!

I would love to give her less formula - Shes costing me a bucket load AND her feeds have just gone up to 230MLS!!!! laugh.gif

I agree with the advice already given - DO NOT water down formula - it is made to be prepared a certain way and altering the formula to water ratio in a major way can disturb the electrolyte balance in babies causing them to be quite ill.

thanks heaps guys for all ur advice, i thought it seemed a bit dodgy to water it down...charlotte has settled a little, shes now drinking 180mls most feeds instead of 240 which assures me that she knows how much she needs smile.gif

Thanks again! I always know that i can get the right answer here cause so many of you have been through it-you girls are awsome!
