I have read back through all the Coffs Harbour threads and its made me even more confused. Steve and I are going there for our honeymoon in oh 3 weeks and will be spending maybe 5 days down there and then just drive back up to bris taking our time.
Steve was a Coffs boy (years ago) and has not stayed in any of the hotels and I have never been there so I wouldnt have a clue. Also I have never stayed in a resort or hotel before so I want it to be something nice (obviously)
So far on the list is
* Breakfree Aanuka Beach Resort
* Aanuka Beach Bures (is this the same as above?)
* Aqualuna Beach Resort
* Nautilus Beachfront Villas & Spa
* Bangalow Waters Korora
* Absolute Beachfront Opal Cove Resort
I know on of these Steve really does not like but I cant think which one it is.
Steve has planned all the things that we are going to be doing and its going to be an extra special trip as he will be visiting his dads grave that he has not seen for 10 or so years.
So any ideas on these places would be brilliant or if there is somewhere else let me know smile.gif

PM recommendations please - i-do admin

The room was nice, Staff were helpful in booking anything we wanted (except for the snooty staff memeber we got stuck with when checking in dry.gif ) The food was decent enough and the cocktails were very nice. It was close to pretty much everything as well.

In saying that our honeymoon was almost three years ago now so hopefully someone who has honeymooned in Coffs Harbour recently will reply.

I lived approx 1.5hrs from Coffs and I highly recommend Annuka!

I have stayed at Annuka, Pelican Beach, Opal Cove before.
Annuka is the nicest, especially if u are going there for your honeymoon.

I have stayed at the Aqualuna Beach Resort and personally wouldn't recomend it for a honeymoon stay. Annuka has very high rating from friends smile.gif

I am pretty sure aqualuna is the one steve does not like. I might cross that one off now. Just called him and its Opal Cove that he does not like.
Aanuka sounds and looks really nice (plus they have the day spa as well) hrmmm

We stayed at Aanuka almost a year ago and we really enjoyed it. However our room was nothing flash but the bathroom was wonderful (it had a glass ceiling and a HUGE bath). But it was just a standard room and I believe they have specific honeymoon suites, so I would be opting for one of those if I were you.

The restaurant was lovely and the views are beautiful. It has it's own private beach, a gorgeous swimming pool and spa, and the day spa is nice but very pricey. The bar is great too!

There were birds and wildlife walking around the property, there are a thousand palm trees and you do feel very secluded in there which makes you feel a million miles from home smile.gif

So I would reccommend Aanuka from personal experience, but making sure you upgrade the room wink.gif

Opal Cove wasn't too bad actually... that's where we stayed.

I think it also depends on your budget.

Are the remaining ones in that budget / available?

Hi, I live in Coffs Harbour. But have never stayed in any of the local resorts. I recommend going to the www.tripadvisor.com website. And look at reviews that people have put in for the resorts on your list. You can get some amazing private houses to rent here, they are very expensive though.
Any other questions about Coffs I am happy to help.

My hubby's from Coffs (well Dorrigo actually) so I've never stayed at any of the hotels, (actually that's not entirely true, we married at Bonville Golf Resort, so I've stayed there!!) but we were going to marry at Aanuka before they went bust and were bought by Breakfree! It was lovely then so I can imagine it's still lovely now. I'd definately recommend the location.

Now - what has Steve got planned for you while you're there?

I have to go against the grain, I do not like Aanuka & Opal Cove. I would go with Nautilus personally. Just my opinion though.
I find Aanuka very swampy & when we looked at Opal as a wedding venue the people were terrible.

Hi,

I'm actually getting married at Opal Cove in just over a month.

I've found them to be nothing but helpful the whole way through. smile.gif

The restaurant at Opal Cove is really lovely too. Has big glass windows that overlook the greenery and lovely food.

I've also stayed there before and it was lovely!

I've worked at Nautilus and it was okay.

I've been to Aqualuna and didn't think it was that nice but depends what you want to do there.

Novetel is lovely but pretty pricey.

Aanuka is nice and has lots of greenery. Haven't stayed there but had lots of friends who have.

Most of the resorts have the day spa part and I know Nautilus has a really nice massage place. Been there and it was fantastic.

Good luck with your choices.

Sah xoxo

He hasnt told me a lot of what is planned. I know we are going to the pet porpoise pools, some waterfalls (?) and thats about all lol He loves it down there and knows the area well so he has said we will have plenty to do while we are away.

Another vote for Novotel, we stayed there in Feb. We drove down the coast for our honeymoon and it was lovely
