Because we cant get anyone to look after the kids for longer than a night or two, we cant go on a proper honeymoon. Im trying to find a fantastic hotel in Melbourne (doesnt matter if it isnt the CBD) that will make us feel like royalty. I really really need some relaxing time away from the kids and other family members so I want some where that feels like you are a million miles away.
Does anyone have any recommendations of hotels, Bed and breakfasts etc?

PM recommendations please!! i-do admin

The Sofitel is gorgeous, feathertop mattresses (heaven) remote everything, in the city centre with great views (all rooms are above the 35th? floor) and if you mention it is your wedding night you'll get complimentary champers, handmade choccies and a nice little card from the manager.

The Park Hyatt. I was working down in Melbourne and the Boy came down for a special weekend. We got the late checkout and room service breakfast - it was all stunning.

I know a lot of girls have stayed at the Westin for their wedding night and loved it - Views of the Cathedral, breakfast in bed, huge suite etc. We made the mistake of getting married on Aussie Open final weekend, so couldn't stay anywhere swanky as they all had minimum 3-day stays. Still did a lot of research though wink.gif

If you're looking at something a bit more boutique and unique (didn't mean to rhyme) look at the Hotel Lindrum in Flinders St, or the Lyall Hotel (very swish, both of these) in South Yarra. The Lyall has a spa and some pretty good packages. The Lindrum's style is awesome, but not to all tastes.

I love the Windsor for old world charm, Westin for modern charm, and any of the suites at the Grand Hyatt.

I am staying at the Langham at the end of the month, which is meant to be lovely. From the website, it looks devine, and their packages look magical!!!

We stayed in one of the Victorian Suits at The Windsor on our wedding night! For $1200 per night one would definately want to feel like Royalty. And I certainly did!
