Fh and I are going on a short 3 day escape on the Sunshine coast. He wants to do nothing, which is ok to an extent, but i'm likely to get bored and want to go and do things. There are markets on during mid week near where we are going but FH hates shopping and i know he won't enjoy it as much as i will. I don't want our honeymoon to end up being three days in a room.

What did you do on your honeymoon?

We did the tourist thing and visited different places that we wouldn't normally go.

Where on the Sun coast are you going?

Jo, we're going to Maroochydore. I want to check out Eumundi markets on the Wednesday, i've only been once before and they were awesome. maybe if we do nothing on the other two days i might get away with dragging him around the markets for one day tongue.gif

Yep, thats how I played it!! We were in TN QLD and did do the market thing as well as a few other touristy things such as cruses around rivers and such. However we also did lots of lounging by the pool with a good book/walks along the beach during the day and dinners out during the evenings...

We went to Dunk Island for our 5 day honeymoon and it rained. Like Forrest Gump rain, upside down, sideways - you get the picture. Every second of every day. We got 2 hours of sunshine one morning and made a dash for the pool at 7am. We also got spa treatments each day, walked up a mountain in the rain (not sure why, seemed like a fun thing to do at the time), watched movies in our room and polished off a whole bottle of Bollinger on our balcony. We talked a lot and ate ourselves silly. It was exactly what we needed.

We went to the Sunny coast as well, because I only had a week's holiday (uni) and wasn't going to spend that time travelling!

TBH, we spent the first day recharging- we were both absolutely exhausted and wanted nothing more than to wind down- we spent a lot of time in the spa or on the balcony.

Pretty much every morning we went for a swim in the pool, then to the beach- we were one of the rare people that LOST weight on their honeymoon laugh.gif because we spent the mornings in the water. And every afternoon we grabbed some drinks and jumped in the spa.

Apart from that, we went on a sunset cruise on the Maloolaba river- from memory I think it was $30pp and included nibbles, BYO alcohol. You could head up to Yandina and go to the Sp!rit House Thai restaurant- it's lovely. Also up there is the Ginger Factory and a Macadamia Factory if you're after tourist-y type things.

One night DH hired out a stretch limo as a suprise wub.gif and we got driven around in that for a while- we just cruised around the coast drinking champers, but it was great!

We hardly did anything we spent 10 nights at the maldives so we spent our time sitting by the water and swimming or sitting by the pool and swimming. Read a few books, went to the spa, all for 10 lovely nights.

We did a 2 week cruise over to NZ.

We just drank, ate, laid by the pool.............

Enjoyed all on board activities.
Then at the ports we did the tourist bit and went exploring..........

We made the most of our time in Cairns given it would be a while til we had another holiday.
I think we only had 2 free days out of 7, we organised day trips for the other 5 days.
We ate out a lot.
I took myself off shopping one day when he wanted to go bush walking.
A lot of lazing in the afternoon though.

For 3 days I would probably try and do as little as possible, I wouldn't get bored, it will go pretty quick.

Just enjoy each other

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was bliss.

I think we did a day of shopping and explored for a day and a half - spread over two weeks.

i would just spend the time together relaxing, you will be suprised how quickly it goes. we spent a lot of time just walking around together, eating, drinking, and just enjoying each other.
