Hi all.... we're about to start planning our honeymoon wub.gif

We're doing 2 weeks in Canada snowboarding, then off to Vegas for a few days (where we'll renew our vows in the tackiest chapel in vegas, Elvis will be present of course) and then a week to 10 days in New York.

SO EXCITED.

But wondering...how long has everyone/did everyone leave between the wedding and leaving for their honeymoon ?

Our wedding is on a saturday so I'm thinking fly out tues which would give us sunday to recover then monday to pack

What do you all think ?

Our wedding is a Sunday & we'll probably be heading off the Tuesday or Wednesday, I figure a couple of days at home is plenty.

Your honeymoon sounds lovely.

we got married on the saturday and flew out on the sunday. It was WAY too soon and I wish we stayed at home for a couple of days to settle. I think Tuesday sounds like a good time between wedding and honeymoon.

We're flying out on the Tuesday (early morning) after a Saturday night wedding. Two days should be time to recover smile.gif

We flew out on Sunday afternoon/evening after a Saturday wedding.

The last thing I wanted to do was go back to reality in between! If we had flown out on the Monday I would have stayed in the hotel a second night.

I love the sound of your trip - enjoy it!

Oooh thats a good point.... if we come home we'd both be tempted to check our work email - yuk !

Though I think we will have to come home to say bye to our puppy. Four and a half weeks away from him sad.gif

Sounds like tuesday will be a winner I think

I've always thought that you leave straightaway from the reception to your honeymoon like they seem to always do in the movies, think Father of the Bride. We got married on a Saturday and flew out very early on Sunday morning. I thought it would have been anti-climatic if we hung around for a couple of days after the wedding but that's just me and my strange ideas.

We got married on a Saturday and we left on the Tuesday, it was a good time in between, it meant we didn't have to pack before the wedding, we did it on the Monday.

yeah we are flying out at around 130pm on the saturday after a friday night wedding.

i wouldnt want to go home at all, i want to count from when we check into the hotel before the wedding, until the day we get home from the honeymoon as a long vacation. going home would just kinda ruin the moment for me..

I am getting married on the 14th of june and flying out on the 14th of July. My sisters 21st is in between which is why we are hanging around for the month. I am actually glad for the break between. I think it would be too hectic for me to leave straight after the wedding.

Sounds like a fab honeymoon biggrin.gif

We flew out 2 days after our wedding. I loved having the day after to wind down, spend with familiy and open our pressies before having to fly out.

We flew out Monday midday after a Saturday evening wedding.

It gave us the opportunity to catch up with the goss that we didn't know about from the wedding and glow in the warmth of everybodys love and praise laugh.gif before our wedding was forgotten about and also to slip away whilst we were still in the post wedding glow. It was perfect.

We stayed in our hotel two night. Going back home between our wedding and honeymoon would have spoiled the fun. smile.gif

We flew out on Thursday after a Saturday evening wedding.

We were married in Melbourne and loved having a few days to spend alone in the city before we flew out. There was no rush, no hurry. It was perfect. smile.gif

We both live in Sydney and stayed in Melbourne in between our wedding and when we flew out. We didn't go back to Sydney - it would have been too much.
