Hi All,

Well two weeks ago the plan was to go to Vanuatu for our honeymoon but since then I have got a new job and it is their busiest time of year in September, so will only be taking a week off work instead of two. We decided that if we were going to have a short honeymoon then we want it to be close by and so we have booked a beautiful little cottage right on the beach at Sawtell. (The bonus is our two furbabies can come along!!).

I have only ever spent two days about 20 years ago in the Coffs area and would love ideas of good restaurants and places to see - we love bushwalking and outdoorsy stuff.

We are also thinking of spending one or two nights in the hinterland on our way home - between Armidale and Coffs (we live further west of there) - any must see places/good accommodation that you can recommend?

Any natives of that area that can help us?

I will think & get back to you.
Do you want me to go to the Tourist Information & get brochures & post them to you?
Let me know.

Hey Rose,

There's some really nice walks up at Dorrigo (bout a 40 min drive from Coffs) and some lovely places at Bellingen (on the way to Dorrigo).

A bit closer there is a lovely town called Woolgoolga (20 mins north of Coffs) that has some really nice restaurants and places to hang out. Corindi/Red Rock has some nice picnic spots with places for your furbabies to run around!!

Sawtell has a whole strip (1st Ave) of restaurants that are really lovely (one in particular called Barrells is fantastic) and also has some lovely places to explore on foot and by driving.

Let me know if you want any more info!

Cheers Twiinie!!!

Right! I'm seconding Sah on this one! Barrells is great and there a great Indian rest there too, but the name escapes me at the moment!

The hinterland? Well considering I'm married to a Dorrigo boy, you must swing by there for a visit, go to the rainforest centre and go for a bushwalk through to the Glade, and the walk down to Dangar Falls (which even though is owned by Nat Parks is actually part of my FIL's property!!) It'sll be perfect that time of year! There's a wonderful B&B called Casa Belle in Bello that we stayed at just after our wedding.

I'll be up there in a couple of weeks so I'll see if I can get any more info for you!

The national park was gorgeous.

There is a german restaruant there that we went too which was lovely. But we couldn't go past the co-op wink.gif

What sort of things are you loking to do?
