Hey girls... hoping you can help me out with some advice!

I seperated from Hubby at Xmas time so 5 mths ago... we had been together for 13 years and married for nearly 4 of those. He has a new GF and they live together.

I thought well i may as well join them as hubby and I are still great friends but I know that we may never be together again and I am somewhat relieved! but sad and upset but those emotions are less and less each day... so... I am going on a blind date on Saturday! We r meeting late morning and going to movies and then probably lunch afterwards

What should I wear?
What should I talk about?
Do you shake hands or kiss on cheek or what when you first meet?

he sounds like a nice guy... we sms heaps and have talked a little and seem to click by doing that

i am sooooo nervous!!

all this is soooo new to me! I haven't really dated anyone. We had been together since we were 16

so clueless

also should I tell him that I am still married?? not something that has come up before and I definitly would if he asked but don't want to start off by saying HI i kinda like you BUT I am married... IYKWIM

Firstly - congrats on getting out there and moving on smile.gif You sound like you're in a really good place right now, and you just want something more - good on you smile.gif

Secondly - take a deeeeeep breath laugh.gif

Okay, now:

What should I wear? Go casual, but not too casual .. Eg. Nice jeans and a dressy top. Nice day wear, not clothes you'd just chuck on to go to the shops laugh.gif

What should I talk about? Talk about whatever comes naturally smile.gif If you've spoken to him a little via text, you should have some idea of how well you'll be able to have a conversation with him, but don't think about it too much, it'll work out smile.gif

Do you shake hands or kiss on cheek or what when you first meet? The last time I had a date, I'm pretty sure it was just a kiss on the cheek when we met. It's a little more friendly than shaking hands IMO smile.gif

Good luck, and we want all the details afterwards!! biggrin.gif

Good for you!!! How exciting.

Blind dates are never easy. My only advice is to be yourself. Ask about things you genuinely want to know about. Dress casually (but not trackies and ugh boots wink.gif ) and have fun!!

I wouldn't mention the whole still being married thing yet. Work out if you like this guy first. Get to know him and then decide if it's even worth telling him.

Good luck hun!! Let us know how you go!!!

you can always say that you are separated if it does come up, its true and not quite as abrupt as saying you are still married (even though thats true too!)

Good luck sweetie. Just relax and be yourself... you'll be fine!!

So glad to hear that it went well smile.gif

See, it all comes naturally once you're there, and it's rather cute that he was nervous too smile.gif
