If I'm getting mine and my BM's hair & make-up professionally done when should I book this?
Married 8th October 2005! I will love you today, tomorow, always!

I think most guides have said between 6 months to 3 months beforehand. With hairdressers in a salon I would probably leave it closer to the date as you don't know what the turn over of staff is like and you wouldn't want to book one lady to find out 9 months later they have quit. Also I wouldn't think they would take appointments more than 6 months in advance anyway. Although I am not speaking from experience here as we are only just starting to look at our options at the moment when it comes to make up and hair. First things first is to work out where the hell I am spending the night before than that decision will be easy.

I booked mine a couple of months beforehand but I was a bit slack so i would do it 3-4 months before if I was you! Luckily, mine was free the weekend I wanted but she wasn't free any of the other weekends in August.

Usually 4 months prior is plenty of time. Also get the individual's details as hairdressers often jump to different salons. I made sure i knew enough about the BM's and my dress and accessories before i booked. Gives you and the stylist a clearer idea of what colours to use and what hairstyle options you have.

We booked probably further ahead than most (bout 5 or 6 months, can't remember) cuz I knew that I'd definately be going to that hairdresser, as she has done my hair since i had hair to do!

Give yourself a few months at least, so you can have your trial and make sure you are happy with whoever you choose.

Good luck!

I think I booked my hair/make-up artist about 4-5 months before our wedding. Because she's so good, she's pretty busy (works for a t.v. station, does weddings, teaches etc), so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't miss out! smile.gif
