Ours would have been around $7000. We went to Dunk Island off Cairns. We got engaged while holidaying in the UK so for our honeymoon we just wanted to laze around on the beach. The 7k included a few nights accommodation in Bris after the wedding, flights to cairns and transfer flights to the island, 7 nights luxury accom on Dunk including breakfast and dinners every night, and spending money. We then spent a few days afterwards with some friends in Cairns... we did day trips to Port douglas, mossman gorge etc. We had a brilliant time!!

Forget the dream wedding, some of you have had my dream honeymoon!!!

We didnt have one sad.gif We had two weeks off at home, most of which I was sick for - I would love to have the opportunity to drag my husband overseas away from any disruption and stress that happens in our normal lives... but if only he valued the luxury of travel!

I havnt holidayed properly in years....I'm counting down to my trip to China later this year...unfortunately its not with my husband.

Were heading to New Zealand. 3 nights in Roturua to do all the adrenalin stuff for the boy and then off to the Bay of Islands (Paihia) for 6 nights for the romantic relaxing part of the trip. Thinking all up it will cost us about $6000 - this includes flights, accomm, hire car and all the activities and meals etc.

We will be going to the UK for three weeks and I originally budgeted on $8K, but after reading all this I think I need to revise it to $10K. We arrive on a Monday and are staying with James' aunt and uncle til the Friday (they live about 45-1hr outside London) and then we pick up the hire car to drive up through England into Scotland for just under 2.5 weeks. I've never been overseas before and I have always wanted to see Scotland, and with his family in England there was never any other choice but the UK for us! So far we have paid about $5500 in airfares, car hire and travel insurance. We will probably book into B&B's as we go, try and pick up last minute deals. I can't wait!!!!

This is exactly what we did for our trip to the UK (when hubby proposed)!! You'll have a fab time. It's certainly interesting driving in the UK particularly when you get to country roads. We saw a van reverse up a busy highway because he missed his exit ohmy.gif We also "bumped" into a parked BMW convertable at one of the hotels we stayed in because the parking was so tight. Fortunately there were no scratches on the BMW or our hire car.

The first night outside of London, we stayed in a B&B but had a bad experience so we ended up staying in hotels for the rest of the trip... they were quite cheap... about 100 quid a night which included breakfast. I think in total our holiday cost about $15000. This was almost 4 years ago too!! And we never really ate out at night - we mainly lived on pub food or KFC chips.

And I thought our honeymoon was expensive at $9,000.00 (plus food and spending); I guess, for some people, it would be, and others, obviously not!

We are spending three weeks in Thailand and Malaysia, and everywhere we are staying is at least four star - I wouldn't want anything less on a honeymoon. Our first quote was $12,700.00 (!) but then I went to a different travel agent and he reviewed the quote and he came up with a whole different itinerary and was able to suggest a few different hotels/resorts than they ones we picked originally (the Phuket accom would have been over $2,500 for seven nights - holy moly! ) which were still really good, but offered better deals. He was also able to get us a heap of free room upgrades. biggrin.gif

Hi! this is my first post..

we are going to LA, Tijuana, Vegas & San Fran...our budget was about $10K but it seems the flights were so expensive that we are now budgeting $13-15K including accom/food & spending..

I am sooo excited! It is expensive but I thought this will be our last holiday for a long while since we are thinking of buying a house etc so may as well do it!

our honeymoon was delayed unitl mid august due to the time of year and I had exams in june. We went to france, spain, norway and thailand. However we spent most of our time in spain doing a walk called the camino, it about 725km long and in the 3 weeks we had we completed about 550kms of the walk. At this point most people look at us, as if we are insane but for us it was the perfec honeymoon and way to see spain, spent lots of time talking and walking with lots of stops at yummy cafes, winebars and cake shops. Lying on a beach would not suit us, as we are keen bush walkers. Besides the airfares, the rest of the trip was cheap - except for Norway - probably spent about 12-15K total.

We went to Fiji for 10 days and it cost $4000 including flights, accomodation and breakfast. All up with spending money and the other meals/alcohol probably about $5500? I wouldn't swap it for the world - we had a fantastic time and it was well worth the money.

Our wedding isn't til next year, but we have already thought about our honeymoon (we've never been overseas by ourselves so you can imagine how excited we would be!). blush.gif

We are planning to go to Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Europe (Paris, Rome, Venice and London) and possibly either Thailand or Vietnam. The highlight of our trip (so we predict) will be staying at Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

To everyone who's posted so far, does the amount you spent include your spending money?? Our $20k or so budget doesn't include our spending money...I really have no idea how much to save for that! Can anyone who's been to Europe shed some light on how much they spent there shopping?

We honeymooned for 2 months in Europe. This was also time to visit with the relatives. We used some money that was given to us as a wedding gift and the rest we paid for ourselves. We went to England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.

That was in 2006 and we're planning on going back in the next 2 years or so.

Our honeymoon was about $5,500.

We spent 7 nights at Club Med Ria Bintan and then 3 nights at The Hyatt in Singapore.

This year for our first anniversary I am trying to talk DH in to heading off to America. He is being a bit stubborn though.

We spent around $200. wink.gif Which isn't a fair comparison to most people's honeymoon budgets as ours was just a mini-moon - two nights on the Gold Coast. We weren't going to honeymoon at all but the Mister's boss offered to put us up in a luxury apartment in Q1 for the two nights on his business barter system, so we decided what the hell! It was a stunning apartment and the only money we spent was on dinner for the two nights, drinks, and tickets to Dreamworld with his family (half price as my uncle works there).

We're making up for it soon though - leaving for Asia in two weeks then a 1-2 year working holiday in the UK and Europe!

In Europe we went to Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. We also spent around $20K on flights, train fares and accomodation. We did some of our shopping in Paris (mainly bags and souveneirs) and most of our shopping in Florence (since there wasn't much else to do there). I think all up we spent about $5K just on shopping. We went a little bit overboard ph34r.gif. We bought designer stuff but at the outlets so really we were saving money.
