We are spending 7 nights in Cairns.
My brother bought us the flights - $700
Our accomodation is near $1000 for the week.
My Auntie has already booked us gold class on the Kuranda Scenic Railway
We will have about $2,000 in spending money, perhaps $3,000

Under $5,000 all up for which we obviously have been spoilt with some costs

We'll spend about $35K on ours. 6 weeks in France, 1 week in London with business class airfares to get over there (FH is 6'6" - economy doesn't work so well for him!). It's a good thing the wedding is only costing us $5K!

Ours was around the $20k mark. We went to Italy and Malta for three weeks and stayed in four and five star accommodation.

It was a trip of a lifetime smile.gif

Ours was around $3000... that included spending money.

We stayed at a beautiful private honeymoon cabin up on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for 7 nights... we live about 1 hour away.

Ours was $5k plus food and spending money. We went to Thailand - Phuket and Bangkok - for 13 nights.

It was crap, and if I had my time over we would stay in Australia and do something nice.

Thats just me though (anyone who read my other thread a while ago knows my honeymoon issues!).

We stayed in Tassie for 6 nights and Sydney for 2 nights. We stayed in all 4.5 - 5 star acommodation and had a Peugeot 307 as our hire car and ate and drank ourselves silly. By using the entertainment guide for reduced accomm and car hire, our entire trip including flights would have been around $3,000. We had an amazing time and it was our first choice for the time frame we had available.

Wow there are some amazing honeymoons.

We spend 10 days in Tasmania and it cost about $11,000. We had five nights in a King Billy Suite at Cradle Mountain, spa treatments every day and a few nights at the Henry Jones in Hobart. We also ate at some great restaurants and drank some great wine. That figure doesn't include the wine I shipped home.

All the places I want to go seem to be so expensive but I would really like to have a "honeymoon of a lifetime".
Where do you ultimately want to go?

and 6 nights in Khao Lanta, Thailand staying here in a pool villa.
Oh we stayed at Pimalai Resort & Spa, it was amazing!! We were there for 8 days (although we didn't have a pool villa we had one of the delux rooms down closer to the beach) it is just simply stunning, you will love it!

Wow, reading some of these replies I now see that what I thought was extravagant spending 10K really wasn't tongue.gif

Our h/moon included wedding night at Hilton at Melb airport, 2nd night at the Sebel Peir 1 in Sydney then flew to Bangkok (pgot our flights with frequent flyer points), stayed 1 night (well 6 hours actually blink.gif ) then did a 3 night package staying on floating rafts in the middle of the jungle here (see my sig pic too) The jungle rafts were the highlight (and the cheapest part) of our honeymoon, followed a close second by our 8 days at Pimalai, and then a very distant third was our 6 day cruise from Singapore (and also the most expensive part of our h/moon 5K just for the cruise.) We were pretty disappointed, we wish the cruise had of been first because then we wouldn't have felt so let down from what we had already done.

Haven't been on our honeymoon yet (gatting married in Sept '08), but it's all organised..We're very lucky cause we're going on 2 honeymoons. H2B and I have travelled heaps (43 countries at last count tongue.gif ), and we've done everywhere from tours, self drive, cruises in Russia, popular destinations, and not so popular destinations (Bosnia, anyone??! haha)

Also, H2B works for a major airline, so this is the reason we're going on 2 honeymoons. I'm a teacher, and so getting married in school hols on the first day. Then because of H2B's airline and travel discounts, it's cheaper for us to go to Asia than QLD! We had planned to have a short break immediately after the wedding, but when we can stay in a 5 star hotel in Thailand for $40 a night, and $100+ per night in QLD, I think I know where I'd rather go! Plus, the $AUD is so strong, once in Asia, it's incredibly cheap. I worked in the travel industry for years, so I have some inside knowledge also that comes in handy.

Then, in December, we'll take a longer break and head offf to the USA, Austria to visit family, and back to some of our favourite places like Dubai or Zanzibar.

It's hard to say how much it'll cost because what we pay is minimal, but going to Asia is a cheaper holiday option for everyone regardless.

If anyone wants advice on destinations, PM me!

Am I reading this right or is there a missing zero. Because if all you're paying is $600 please let me know where you've booked as I'm definitely going! Seriously.

Whoops, yes that should be $6000 laugh.gif
