Fax your flyer to every vet in melbourne. People keep their vets, even when they move - so sometimes they will find an animal and take it to their vet because the vets know them. When Gilbert went missing, he was taken to a vet at least 10 suburbs away.

Call radio stations and ask if you can have a community service notice go out. Tell them to mention the reward (if you are offering one)

Contact your local newspapers and the big ones too.

here is a link for the petalia vet clinic list. Many have emails - you can email your flyer - or call.

*hugs*

If I think of anything else, I will let you know!

I was going to say the same thing. I live in Ballarat but still make the trip to Blackburn to visit my fantastic vet. They have a boarding service, so maybe someone has dropped Bailey off to them. Try Blackburn Animal Hospital, Canterbury Rd, Blackburn, Ph: (03) 9877 3277

Chloe I hope you find him today. sad.gif I don't know what I'd do if my furbaby went wandering!

Oh no hun, not our gorgeous Bailey. Oh how devastating not knowing where he is sad.gif sad.gif He'll be okay though, someone will have him all tucked up waiting for his mum & dad to come and get him.

Please let us know as soon as you find him, and shower him with cuddles and kisses from all of us!

OMG girls thank you so much for your support.

We've just been to all the council pounds and revisted the RSPCA - no sign of him. I was balling my eyes out when we walked through all of the doggy cells in the quarantine areas.

BUT we've had a phone call and someone said they almost ran over him this morning near Devon Dr at about 9:30. We've since been scouring the sts back around Devon Drive and a few other peopel have said they saw him a couple of hours ago in this area. This is really good news as it means he hasn't crossed any major roads and he is still around so we can focus on the streets rather than the pounds.

I'm printing more flyers and doing more drop offs as we walk around all the streets leading off Devon Dr. We even met a really amazing old man who was walking around dropping off catalogues. He asked us for a whole bunch of flyers so he could drop them off in ppl's letter boxes too.

I think bailey is trying to come home. I've left the side gate open for him just in case he does make it back - the other two are inside.

Thanks Decembergirl - we've left flyers at that vet too. They were lovely.

Chloe, my heart broke reading your posts here. To lose a much loved pet is one of the most traumatic things that can happen to anyone.

You are in my thoughts and prayers and I am hoping that he is found soon.

I wish I was in Melbourne and could assist with the efforts to find him. Please let me know if there are any calls or follow ups that I can do with vets in your area. If you shoot me through a list of phone numbers that you have I am happy to do the ring around for however long is required.

Chloe I am so sorry to hear about Bailey. I have my fingers crossed that he will come home safe and sound. I wish I could help as well but I am not in Melbourne. Please let me know if there is anything I can do - it is awful when fur babies are missing or sick x

sad.gif Oh Chloe. I'm heading home in the next hour or so, so will get back out to Devon Drive and drive around and see if I can spot him (assuming he's not home safe first).

Oh Chloe I hope you've got some more positive news by now. It is encouraging to know there's been sightings of him, that's something to go on at least.

I am absolutely positive he is trying to find his way back home to his Mummy & Daddy. Poor bugger is probably well & truly over his adventure by now & just wants his warm bed.

If there is anything at all I can do let me know. If you need the home phone manned or just need someone to sit with the other dogs whilst your out looking or anything, don't hesitate to pm me & I'll come running. Anything at all, I know I'd be beside myself in this situation.

Try & stay positive!!

We still can't find him. We've been through every street around our area. We've got council people walking around, builders and postmen on the lookout for him.

It is very very hot today and he will be tired and thirsty. I just don't know what else to do. Thank you everyone for your offers of help. He is microchipped so I'm assured that th emoment he shows up at any vets he would be identified and we'd be contacted. I'm going back out there to do more flyers.

No one else has seen him - last time was around 9:30am. Alex was around the streets calling him at that time. He is so upset that maybe Bailey heard him but couldn't find him and was running around frantically trying to find us.
