Chloe I just did a search for a few contacts you could try too - hope they can help.

Brimbank Council - 8290 1333 & Nillimbuck Council - 9434 7155 (I think they cover your area, not 100% sure)

RSPCA - 9224 2222

Save A Dog Group - 9885 1188

Also try this link for Lost Dogs Home - http://lostdogs.com..../?CategoryID=22

Hope some of this may help & once again, if you need any help, let me know.

Oh I thought of one more thing - with the flyer to be put out I'd also add Reward to be available for anyone who finds him.

It sounds harsh but in this day & age some people are more inclined to do something for others if there's a reward for it, others will help out of their own kindness but sadly many won't. Anyway it may just be a little factor that could help trigger someone to get them to contact you.

Thank you Mrs Scootar - you are truly too kind.

I have dropped flyers around the neighbourhood, left them at the local shops, police station, Animal Emergency Centre and RSPCA (under the front door).

We have spent the last 3 or 4 hours practically calling his name around within a 2 suburb radius of where he was last seen as well as putting flyers in all the letterboxes....

I've also posted a notice on the lostdogs website but I will keep a look out on the found page just in case someone posts a notice tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice re reward as well, we added that there would be a reward if found at the last minute before I printed about 400 flyers off so hopefully if that is what will motivate someone to contact me... My printer ran out of ink after about 300 flyers so I will wait to print more tomorrow. Alex is not going to work so we can spend the day searching for him tomorrow... or should I say today.

I am hoping against all hope that I have good news to post tomorrow.

I had a feeling you'd still be up. I too have terrible trouble sleeping if our furbabies aern't inside at night.

I hope you get some good news as I'm sure Bailey is desperate to want to get home, silly bugger probably just wanted a squizz at what was outside & then couldn't find his way back home.

At least being a friendly boy may help as someone may have approached him if he looked lost & taken him in until being able to alert someone of him. If he was vicious people would probably walk away & he'd be left alone.

Anyway, fingers crossed for today & do pm me if you need any extra help as I'm not too far away (Kilsyth).

Good luck!!

Thank you guys so much. Reading your posts gives me something to do and makes me feel a little better. I keep thinking, I hope all of our neighbours are as lovely as everyone in here and will take pity on him and give him somewhere safe to sleep for the night.

Alex and I know he's probably curled up in someone's house, but we keep picturing him out there in the grass somewhere (probably not near here as we have already scoured the streets calling his name). I just hope that if someone found him, they don't decide he is nice enough to keep...

He's never really been outside on his own before - we've always been around and/or he's been on a leash. Unfortunately because he is very used to going to Ruffey Lake which is a huge leash-free area he would probably not have thought twice about wandering off on his own when he managed to escape.

I've posted in DOL. Now I just have to wait til its a decent hour to start calling around...

you know I know when Billy went missing the 1st time I was terrified. He has no road sense and we drove till this kinda hour calling his name.He appeared on our door step at 1st light so I dont think he was far away at all to find his way.

Hang in there the sun will be up soon and places will be opening..I know though easier said than done..Can u get family, friends to help you look later on???

Ps our vet told us when dogs get out they go looking or you.If you walk Bailey did you scoure the route you guys take??

Not sure how true this finding you theory is but i thought worth a shot..

Thanks Michelle. Our neighbours helped us drop flyers off on our street. My next door neighbour knows just how scared I am as she once thought one of her dogs had gone missing and I helped her look.

We definitely went to look at all the routes we usually walk. We don't really have a set route as we much prefer to take all the dogs to the park (which is a short drive away) for a real run. I'll go for another drive once the sun comes up.... Will definitely keep you guys posted.

sad.gif im so sorry to hear this Saffire.

Trying to give you hope my little girl-a shih tzu escaped one afternoon during a storm. She didnt have a colar and we couldnt figure out how she actually got out.We did the same as you are doing now,and the next day called the local rspca and they said they had a shih tzu and sure enough it was her.
A local couple picked her up off the side of the road and dropped her in.

Most people especially animal lovers would do this. Sending well wishes and hoping you see Bailey real soon.

If you're near Devon drive you're very close by us. I'm heading in to work soon, but will go driving around with hubby now to see if we can spot him. I know you'll be out and about too - I'll be looking in the area South and South West of Devon.

Fingers crossed by the time you see this he's back at home, sitting on your lap getting a cuddle.

Called the Manningham pound - he didn't come in during the night. He's not at the DOncaster Vet either. About to make the other calls (RSPCA, other pounds, shelters etc).

Thank you so much puggie.

Chloe I spoke to a lovely lady at RSPCA but he hasn't been handed in there. She did get your flyers under the door though this morning & is alerting her staff for you.

She also gave me the vet's number in Mt Waverley (can't think what it's called but they are 24hrs & get dogs from all over the place coming in to them) & they hadn't gotten anyone like him overnight either.

Please let me know if there's any calls I can make or anything else I can do to help get Bailey back home.
