Really unimpressed with their frozen skin on fish fillets. Not only did it have a tonne of bones running down the centre but it still had SCALES. Aldi will be getting the rest of the packet and the scales back tomorrow from a very cranky me.

I really wanted Aldi to work for me because the savings were evident. Alas the quality is just not as good.

I'm sick of mushy canned legumes, runny yoghurt and stones in my natural muesli.

I've gone back to the markets and my local IGA.

Its sad that Aldi has gone down hill as i was making such a saving. Now i just dont see the point. Their prices have gone up. I might as well shop at Woolies, at least they pack my bags for me.

I haven't been shopping as much at Aldi either. I still drop past and get a few things that I find good value but I stock up so I don't really go that often. I'm still buying:

Tuna in Oil - The ones for 0.89c - I still can't find anything to beat that.
Paper Towels - 4 Pack
Toilet Paper
DH loves the hamburger patties
Hamburger buns
The fruit buns (like hot cross buns but without the crosses)

Everything else I'm buying from Coles / fruit & veg market or butchers.

The only things we buy there is the canned tuna in spring water for the cats, and some other basics like the flour etc. We have started shopping at Woolies again.

There light frozen dinners are so yummo... Special favourite is the chicken breast with sundried tomato.

I often have them for dinner when I'm feeling lazy with some veggies cos they are real saucy.

Some other good ones are:

* Multigrain bread
* English muffins
* Tinned tuna
* Tinned tomato
* Fruit and veg fresh
* The fat free ham in pre-packs is fantastic it lasts twice as long as the meat from the deli
Love him

I'm still loving Aldi!

I really love their sundried tomatoes, basil pesto and feta.

Our Aldi's fruit and veg has been fantastic lately - so cheap and such great quality.

I also buy their corned beef silverside to cook in the slowcooker - it's great.

Their lemonade is really yummy, and I love the apple and mango juice.

I haven't noticed a price rise at all!?

I have to admit their tins of flavoured tuna is good - loved it more when it was 89c but has now gone up to 99c

Woolies had their select brand on special for 99c so i grabbed some but h2b said there is less tuna and more oil so its a not a good deal at all

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that Aldi is no longer as cheap as it used to be.....

I went there for the first time in ages the other day and I was really disappointed...although i do have one new thing to add to the list if you are going..

there Apple bakes... they are soo good. they are thin biscuits with a fruit filling... like a fruit pillow biscuit rolled really thin.

But Alas I too am back to Woolies and Coles.

I still love the Aldi brand hairspray. So I pop in every now and then to buy a couple of cans of hairspray and then fill the trolley with things like UHT milk, juice boxes etc - stuff that we know we like from Aldi that are a reasonable price.

Plus I also like rummaging in their 'interesting stuff' bins, you never know what you're going to find!

One last thought - coming up to Christmas, they stock boxes of truffles for about $3.00. Not packaged terribly beautifully so not so great as gifts, but they are so so scrummy, we often serve them with coffee when we have people over at this time of year.

Bump for Liza Jane.

We recently went back to Aldi after a long break and honestly, we just can't beat their pricing. Their raspberry jam that I used to find too watery is thicker now and lovely. We've also been buying their 2 minute noodles ($1.09 for a 5 pack!) and they're a great easy lunch for the boys with some cheese and veggies stirred through.

We buy -

tinned tomatoes
dry pasta
cheese (their Danish blue cheese is to die for)
mineral water - plain and flavoured
dog food (meat roll)
potato chips (the sour cream/chilli ones are the best)

We buy other things but it's Monday and my brain isn't working yet tongue.gif

I'll tell you what NOT to buy, their fruit ice sticks. They are so so gross!

I love their chocolate. They have a few types, but we buy the one in the big packet that comes in either plain, almond or fruit and nut.

I'm not fussy with hair conditioner/shampoo, so buy their garnier fructis rip off one, only like $2! Also the toothpaste and shower gel and hand wash. Cleaning products are good too and the dishwasher tablets.

Not really a fan of the toilet paper, but its ok.

Pretty much most things there are pretty good and reasonable. Yeah, the prices have gone up slightly, but they're still cheaper. You can buy brand stuff from coles etc cheaper, but only when its on special. Its good to know you can buy and item cheap any day of the week.

They use to be nice but for some reason they changed the flavour and packing.. I brought them all the time for my girls but after one batch of the new style I just about threw up from the smell ewww
