I am looking for more alternative songs for my wedding as I am into that and Luke is into heavy metal, so most traditional songs do not suit us at all!

how about something by Bon Jovi. He's kinda metal. There's the song "Thank You for Loving Me", "Always" ?

Hi Vanessa,

I'm in the same boat, I've read through all of the ones listed and probably the one one that grabbed me was Lior, probably a bit too soft if your HTB is into metal, but I'm definatly looking for songs that aren't your standard Celine Dion, Jessica Simpson, Shina Twain type of thing, so if you tink of any good songs please post them smile.gif

Thank god someone else thinks this too.... I think there must be many brides are trying to think of alternative songs to the typical ones listed (although they are great help! no offence meant) but i guess maybe people have different tastes in music....

so far i have come up with a few that are not the on the top 50 pop songs

> radiohead - "all i need"
>Jeff Buckley- "Hallelujah"
> mum- "green grass tunnel"
>portishead- "nylon smile"
>sigur ross- "the 11th hour" (played at a good friends wedding isle song, not a dry eye in the church)
> sufjan stevens- "holland" or "to be alone with you"
>decoder ring- "music box" (so beautiful, think we will use it for walking down isle)
> boards of canada- "peacock tail"
>kings of leon- "true love way"

these are on my list so far... hope this broadens the search for the perfect song! wink.gif

hi vanessa

I really like the ryan adams version of 'wonderwall'.

for something fun and funky, 'I believe in a thing called love' by the darkness is really different too, as is 'no more rain' by kylie minogue.

our favourite love songs are:

let's do it - alanis morissette
until - sting
you're my home - billy joel
nine million bicycles - katie melua
lucky - colbie caillat & jason mraz
a wink and a smile - harry connick jnr
at last - etta james
the nearness of you - norah jones version
gamble everything for love - ben lee
saving grace - pete murray

Have you actually listened to the lyrics for hallelujah? Whilst the sound of the song is exquisite, the lyrics are not exactly happiness

A lot of these songs are beautiful. I especially love "This I Swear" by Nick Lachey

I went to your house
Walked up the stairs
I opened your door without ringing a bell
I walked down the hall
Into your room
Where I could smell you
And I
Shouldn't be here
Without Permission
Shouldn't be here
Would you forgive me love
If I danced in your shower
Would you forgive me love
