We were married on the 11th October and I ahd pretty much left most of the honeymoon planning up to Ben and I ahve to say he did a remarkable job!! We spent 10 days in Phuket at the JW Marriot which was heaven on earth. It was so relaxing and an absolute paradise. After that we headed off to freezing cold Europe! We were flying Lufthansa so all our flights went through Frankfurt. We stopped there for 2 nights as neither of us had been there (I had only been to NZ before so it was all quite an experience for me tongue.gif ) and it was beautiful but freezing!! We then headed to Holland for a week to see and stay with some of Ben's rellies. It was quite an experience. We then went to Paris for 3 nights and unfortunately 2 of them were spent in bed (not that kind of bed!!) with severe gastroenteritis. We never considered how hard it would be to communicate symptoms to a doctor who doesn't speak English when we don't speak French!! That aside, we spent one full day exploring the city which was amazing. I definitely want to go back there. From Paris we went to London for 2 days and did the obligitory 'first time in London' things and marvelled at all the Monopoly board streets!! And then we went to Scotland for 2 weeks to stay with friends which was the highlight of our trip. A stunning country. We didn't want to leave. But after 6 weeks away we headed home and have been enjoying our new married life. That was a bit long wasn't it!! rolleyes.gif Ant

Ahhh bonny Scotland. A beautiful place isn't it! Edinburgh has to be my favourite city of all time. So glad you enjoyed it there. It's a crying shame about being sick in Paris though but glad you had a wonderful time all the same. biggrin.gif

Well done to hubby for organizing such an amazing time for you both! Any plans to head back to Paris to make up for sick days?

No plans to go back to Paris just yet. But in the next few years definitely. It was such a stunning city and there was so much we couldn't fit in to 1 day. It was an amazing honeymoon. BJ did such a fabulous job. Must say, he was VERY proud of himself too!! cool.gif

Sounds like a great trip! and I agree about Scotland, I stayed in Edinburgh for 6 months once because I didn't want to leave and we went on a golfing holiday to Dumfries and Galway last year, absolutely LOVE Scotland!

Excluding the illness in Paris, sounds like you had a great time and your boy did a terrific job planning!
