Impossible Princess
BIL is 22 and moving out of home for the first time. He is moving in with a friend in an established house so it doesn't seem he needs anything. I still want to give him a present to mark this occasion, and to help him settle in. Any suggestions?

A nice bottle of whatever he drinks??

Theres always something. Maybe some BBQ tools of his own or a protable BBQ, or some marinades...

How about something for them all to enjoy like a cricket set or basketball hoop??

If he's a typical boy and loves his steak and other meats, how about a George Foreman grill? No cooking ability required to make yummy meals...

Cookbooks biggrin.gif

?wine glasses? Because even in the most established of houses they are always breaking and you always need more

A wok is a FANTASTIC thing, and even if it's an established house, they may not have one...

I reckon you should get him a voucher to woolies and tell him to go shopping on the 23rd of Jan wink.gif

No serioulsy, when we moved outta home one of the best presents we got was a basket full of 'grocery' items and things you don't think of - pegs, starch, nappysan, dishrack etc.

I assume in share house he still has to get his own food i would serioulsy be getting him a food shop!

What about a cookbook or cooking item (like a wok) with a 'date' for a cooking lesson to teach him a basic meal or two and he could arrange to invite his parents (or friends) for dinner that night. Every bloke needs a meal they can cook to impress a girl wink.gif

Otherwise what about a print or something to hang on the wall - if his shared house is anything like some of the ones l was in a bit of class with a nice print ot two on the walls would of been a vase improvement from some of the scantily clad women or car pictures that seem to appear.

What about "Tools" - like a screwdrive and wrench set? Hammers etc - these are things always being used in a household.

How about something for him, such as sheets, or bbq tools.
