Hi girls
What a nightmare at the doctors yesterday! No; thankfully not because I have some terrible lurgy but the hassle of it all. In a nutshell:
Bought the green stinky pinetarsol stuff recommended to me and bathed in it every morning. Itching almost reduced to nothing
Called the Ob's office two hours before appt was due to tell them itching had calmed so should I still come in. Told to still come in for check up.
Arrived at Ob's office for appt at 3.15pm.
At 5pm (one and three quarter HOURS after my appt time) I was FINALLY called in to see my Ob who didn't even apologise for keeping me waiting
Took one look at me, told me that yes I need the liver test to check for horrible lurgy but considering Ive got bloods and glucose appt at the pathology centre in two weeks time anyway, I should do all tests at the same time then. Appt lasted excatly two minutes.
NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Onto other things......
Went to Baby Bunting this morning - PACKED - and bought a car seat, bath thermometer and electric breast pump which I must confess to already having tested and it was very easy and very comfortable
Off to the shops now to get some antipasto to take to our friends for dinner this evening. Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Where is Tortoise?

Wow sounds like a waste of time fr you are at the obs, hope the itching isnt anything more serious when you finally get your tests done.
Congrats on your purchases.
Bec, I breed and show Siamese and Orientals, I am also taking a neuter Maine Coon with me. He is my little show pony so to speak.
Showing is fun but is tiring at times.

Jen, at times like those, I wish doctors would just leave a Pathology request at reception for us and not bother with the appointment. And if its all about money, we'll pay a tiny fee, $10 and be in and out of reception in seconds.
Good luck with your results.

Jen - I am sorry about the crap appointment! that is terrible... what a total waste of your time! I hope that your tests come back all good. Also - I remember Pinetarsol, I used to have to bath in it all the time when I was a kid because I had such bad eczma. Which reminds me - I started on the Inner Health Plus tablets the other day as they said that they think that it will help prevent childhood eczma and assorted other allergies.
Tonight I am off to Sizzler for their Ribs - I love their ribs!
lilren - how lovely! I have a tonkinese - I just love the breed as they are so friendly and beautiful in their nature. I also love the Siamese and Orientals - some of my friends have those breeds and they are also wonderful cats. I dont think that I could own anything else! Maine Coones are the big fluffy-ish cats arent they. I dont knwo if I have ever known any, but from memory I have have seen pics and they are nice looking. Let us know how your cats go!!

Good evening ladies
Well - My tupperware party went really well! We all had a great time and everyone bought something which I was suprised about, but I guess it is hard to say no to tupperware!
After the party we all talked about babies and everyones experiences as all the women there (except me and another pregnant friend due 3 weeks before me) had babies! So we heard all about different labours, pregnancy symptoms and sleeping/feeding issues etc.. was a great and informative afternoon!
Tonight I had Thai green curry for dinner - yum!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

Oh, went to the Pregnancy, Babies and Childrens expo in sydney today and cam away with some great stuff. I got a belly bra...OMG...it feel fantastic. It really lifts up the belly. Can't wait to wear it all day and see how I go. Got some other stuff but I'm too tired to type everything down...will do that tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great w/e.
g'night all, I'm off for some shut eye.

Morning Ladies I hope you all had a nice weekend

I had a pretty good weekend Friday night I went to my girlfriends body shop party which was really nice I got some brazil nut mosturiser spray stuff for my belly. Saturday i went shopping I got a body pillow which is massive but I slept a full night last night first time in about six weeks was wonderful
I have had really bad heartburn which I posted about before but it's driving me mad I seem to be chewing on Mylanta all day even milk doesn't really help anymore. I was sick again this morning which was a bit of a suprise I felt bit naseous then next thing I know I was vomiting i hope my morning sickness isn't coming back.
I hope everyone is well sorry I don't have much time for personals today but will pop back in later
Have a good day everyone

Morning all,
How is everyone today?
It's going to be another one of those days here in the office...too much to do and not enough time. Oh well, do what I can.
Julz, that spray stuff sounds pretty good. I'm going to check it out when I go into the BS on Thursday. Let me know how you find it....ie. is it greasy or not or what

. Aren't those pillows just the best thing? The only problem I have is trying to roll over

mind you that might have more to do with the ginormous lump that I have on my front
Well girls, my w/e was pretty good. Cooked dinner for friends on Saturday night, we had slow roasted lamb and oregano potatoes for dinner and I baked an apple pie...mmmm.delish!
Sunday went to the PBC expo over at Homebush. It was great...like I said a bit chaotic but worthwhile. I bought the bellybra and I'm wearing it today...OMG...soooo comfy....really recommend getting one. It supports under the bump and lifts it up. Some preggy undies...again...sooo comfy and some maternity stockings. If any of you are interested in getting stuff, go to
Fertile Mind and check out their stuff. Also got the breastfeeding pillow, which is even great to stick under the bump when I'm lying on the lounge. If there is one coming up in other cities I recommend going. It's a nice day and you get loads of sample bags from places.
Also bought 2 boxes of cheap huggies newborn nappies on the w/e from a bulk warehouse. Great saving there! I think I might just have everything I need now.
Jen, sorry you had such a crappy appointment. If you were in Sydney I would recommend my obs for you. What a waste of valuable time for you.
Lilren, nice to see you back. How was the cat show?
Must fly, will try to get to more personals later.
Hope you are all well and happy.

Kat sounds like you got some goodies at the expo, l was wondering do you think it's worth going if the bub is already here? The one in Melb is on about 6 weeks after bub is due and given by then l'll have all the nessessary bits would it be worth a trip?
lilren how was the cat show - did your puddies behave. Maine coon are the really big georouse ones aren't they? If so they look so cuddly.
Pinetarsel is the stuff l remember having a bath in for chickenpox when l was little. Dr's are a law upon themself, to keep you waiting that long and then not even appologise or be useful is a bummer.
No pic's as l'd promised, IL's didn't deliver the furniture until 4pm yesterday and by then l had a shocking backache (housework

) so l didn't put anything away or do anything in there after they left. Will try to get it done this week and take pics to show you all. I might even get hubby to take a pic of me tuesday night when we are going out for his birthday???
Hubby was in a good mood and told me off for doing too much housework and making my back sore - he wants me to tell him to do more, so we will see how that works out.
I showed him the change table l want to get, a chest of draws style one but a bit deeper than many you see around, l want to be able to stand facing it to change bub rather than to the side. He didn't have any negative comments to make about it beyond saying "why did we get the wardrobe as well as the tall chest of draws they won't all fit in the nursery" to which l replied l hadn't actually arranged any of that furnitre he had set it all up with his Mum, so perhaps if l was in the loop a bit more l'd have told him the wardrobe wasn't nessessary (they are both second hand from rellies so no-one is out of pocket). He couldnt really disagree with me cause he knows it's true, and he is trying to be nice and was online trying to find the style l want and looks like the wardrobe will go into the spare room.
Not sure if this is good news but l found my first "baby stretch marks" just either side of my belly button a couple of red lines. Need to find the stretch mark cream that was in my bounty bag.

Corie, I do think it's worthwhile going. B/c there was stuff there that would be great for babies...lots of educational stuff, books etc (I'll be reading to Shermie every night) loads of info on when to start solids and how to introduce them, Australian Breastfeeding Assoc. was there, clothing, woolies was there, lots of little bits and pieces. They also had the wiggles performing (well I think it was the wiggles...I could see Dorothy the Dinosaur

) maybe you could organise to go with a gf if hubby doesn't want to go, but I found it quite informative. I did ask another gf of mine if she went before she had her girls, and she had just had her first one - about 6 weeks old - when she went a couple of years ago and she recommended it to me. So, again, my answer is yes...definltely worth it.
You know what else really helps with stretch marks? Bio Oil. I've been using it since 6 weeks (alternating every couple of days with Palmers cocoa butter, and whilst the stretchies that I had before haven't disappeared they have definitely diminished (if that makes sense). I also, before I go to bed, roll on some shea butter from the body shop. It's in a stick and I just rub it all over Shermie and away I go.

Morning girls
Very excited today as I've realised it's a long weekend coming up. Hoo-RAH!
Kat - you have a gorgeous belly there and as for the arse needing its own postcode (though very funny) I DON'T THINK SO!
So, we went for dinner at a friend's place on Saturday night and I told them about my relationship with my obstertrician and they have advised me to change - even at this late stage. So, I called the person they recommended this morning (awkwardly enough, he shares the same waiting rooms as my current one) and the midwife is going to call me back when she has found out if he can fit me in. I would be very happy to switch to him because when I wait for my miserable doc at my appts, I see this other guy come out and have friendly banter with his patients so it would be so good if I can change.
Spent yesterday sanding down our second hand cot. We sanded it in such a way that some patches of wood are lighter than others which means it looks antique now which we're really pleased with. We just need to add some matt varnish to it but that's next weekend's job.
Photos of 27 week belly attached as well as the sanding in action!

Thanks Jen. I'm starting to like the shape of my belly now...doesn't just look fat...but I beg to differ on the arse and the p/code...I still reckon it needs one. I compared my 6 week shot and the 28 week shot last night...bad thing to do...makes you all nostalgic for butt, waist, legs and almost flat tummy!

Although I am becoming more attached to the bump...Jayzus...about bloody time too!

Hi ladies, tetra here. How is everyone feeling, have you all had a good weekend? Sorry I've been missing in action for the last few days, I have been tired, not feeling 100% plus I've been working. I went to the Pregnancy Expo on Friday and I thought it was great! Lots of stands to look at and I came away with a lot of information and samples so if anyone has a chance to get to one, then go! Hubby even enjoyed himself and was wanting to get all the samples too. He is becoming even more excited about bub's arrival and he can't wait to see and hold him, neither can I!
The reason I'm not feeling 100% is I'm starting to pop out more(which I don't mind) and it's putting pressure on the area just below my breasts, where it starts to become rounded and making me feel sick and sore in the tummy. It seems whatever way I sit or stand or lie, it hurts. Yesterday, while I was at work, I got the most uncomfortable stitch down my left side. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable like period pain can be. It stayed for about 45 mins, then went slightly and returned. It seemed to have come and gone and then I went to a baby shower in the arvo and I sat down and that made me feel a little better. When I got home, I layed down and that seems to have helped it. I didn't even cook dinner last night, so it was just frozen lasagna for hubby and frozen pizza for me. I'm a little better today but I can still feel the pressure and it feels like it's burning a little. I suppose it's all a part of pregnancy and just something I have to get used to as I get bigger!
Sorry for no personals, my mind is just not functioning properly today and I'm just so tired, sorry!
I'll try and pop in here a little later,
Love Tetra :-)

QUOTE(varkat @ Jun 4 2007, 04:23 PM)

I reckon my appetite has grown again recently, yes. I am also obsessed with sweet things now much more than I ever was before I was pregnant. Our babies rewally grow in this trimester so it's not surprising is it?
Forgot to answer the swollen ankles thing by the way....I definitely get them good and proper! I also get swollen hands which is really attractive. My worst complaint however is jumpy legs or restless legs syndrome. Drive me mad. I'm also sleeping badly because I panic about lying on my back which seems to be my favoured position. I had a good night's sleep last night however because I told myself that no one had ever died from sleeping on their back during pregnancy (no one I've ever heard of anyway) and that seemed to relax me!
Did I mention I said no to going to Bangkok by the way? I am much happier knowing I don't have to travel again because if you think swollen ankles are bad just dapping around the place wait till you take a flight! Big Daddy has nothing on me!
Where is everyone? Bec you are only a nightime poster now and that makes our little group even smaller

Jen, I don't think you did mention that you weren't going to go to Bangas. I'm sure you feel much better. And the ankles...more cankles I should say...urgh...wish that wasn't something we have to endure through pregnancy!

Although I'm thinking that mine are bankles...going from the back in a straight line through to the supposed ankles
as for the jumpy legs, I've been getting that and cramps when I walk and sleep. My gf (the naturopath) has got some mg powder for me and it is being delivered today so I'm going to give that a whirl and she reckons that I'll be feeling a lot better within a couple of days...fingers crossed!

Sorry I'm here!!!! Been mad busy in work, have been popping in but didn't have time to post!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was pretty relaxed. Finding it really difficult to sleep. How the hell does everyone stay on their side!? I can only get comfortable on my back. I was thinking of putting a bar of chocolate at my side to entice me to roll over! Jeez I just feel so uncomfortable at the moment. Sorry to have a moan but the weather is sooooo hot it's killing me and some stupid person keeps turning the air con down in work. I'm ready to melt!!!
U know u were asking Jen if we were over being pregnant, well I think my answer is now yes!
And yes to the swollen feet, in fact I feel swollen all over! Lucky I'm in flip flops or thongs as you Aussie gals know them as! I always remember a time in Oz when I was buying a mag and they were giving away a pair of thongs. The lady behind the counter asked me what size thongs I took. I thought, why does this woman want to know the size of my knickers!!! She must have thought I was really dumb!
Jen, great news on the trip! It would have been hellish.
I'm not so much hungry all the time, but when I eat I always feel sick after and the only thing that helps is to eat something else!
Has anyone had any strange cravings? I've been ok. Just craving chocolate, especially galaxy chocolate!
Belly pics are fab!
Tetra - I'm like you, below my bust I'm in agony! Think it's my ribs!
Sorry for lack of personals, got to dash out to the docs for my monthly check up.

Hi everyone,
I have just started noticing that I am getting swollen ankles and hands. It seems to be when I don't drink enough water.
Jen - restless legs drives me crazy!! I have started taking my pregnancy vitamins again and my jumpy and crampy legs have completely stopped and I feel great again. Are you still taking your vitamins?
Gee our little baby has been so active and it does the same routine every day. I have managed to work out what time of day it is based on when the baby is moving. I love it!! S/he wakes at 6.30pm and moves around for about 15 mins (this is the time I am making Michael's breakfast), then I get back into bed and it wakes me up at 10am kicking away. It goes on and on all day in about 3-4 hour intervals but I won't bore you with it - it is just so amazing to me!!
I am hungry all the time as well. I could eat all day if I am not careful!
Jen forgot to add - you are one yummy mummy!! Woot Woot!!

Tortoise - I am sorry that it is so hot and icky for you - I hope that work settles down for you soon.
Kat - I am considering a belly bra too!! My tummy is getting SO Big!
Jen - I hate that I can only post in the evenings and weekends - but unfortunately my workplace "big brother" has an eye on me and I need to change the perception that I dont do any work even though I work my bloody arse off!!! Also I hope you get into the nice Obs - at any stage it is worth changing if they are crap.
Oh - and Jen - great Pics - you look Fantastic! Kat - I feel nostalgic for my flat belly and smaller boobs when I look at old pics.
Tetra - I hope that you feel better soon. That pain you described I have been getting off and on since Sunday. mine is a bit more fleeting, but it is very uncomfy when it happens and I need to sit for a moment. I imagine that it is either stretching or it is just the baby on a nerve or something.
Corie - Stretch Marks! I have an eye out for those little monsters - I am convinced that I will get them soon enough. Also - having been to the baby expo when I was in Brisbane I would so reccommend it with a baby
Anyway I am exhausted - just had a lovely pasta dinner and think that it is now time for some ice cream

Hi girls, just thought I'd pop back in and say a quick hi. I had a fairly relaxing day and I'm just going to try and take it easy. I made a savoury mince for dinner tonight and I've just given into my nightly craving of a paddle pop. This weeks flavour is "rainbow" but my favourite is caramel. I think I'm addicted to paddle pops!
I'm down to 15 hrs a week at work now which is a relief, physically I don't think I could do much more. My body is starting to feel the full effects of pregnancy ie; tiredness, sore tummy etc and I look forward to my maternity leave, which I officially start on July 9th. My last day at work is July 8th so Ill be just over 33 weeks. When is everyone else leaving work?
Bec- what flavour ice cream did you have?
Kyew- isn't it amazing how our babies move at certain times, and you can pretty much predict at what times of the day they'll move. Does your baby kick/punch alot, what does it feel like for you?
My baby has been moving since about 18weeks(flutters) but the more stronger and noticeable movements have been since about week 22/23. I'm also hungry all the time but if I eat too much, which I have at times, my belly hurts!
MrsTM/Tortoise- I also can't get comfortable unless I sleep on my back. I get upper back pain on and off and if I sleep on my side when I go to bed at night it really hurts, so the only solution is to lay on my back. I might need to book in for a pregnancy massage!
Anyway, must go and catch some zzzz's. I hope everyone is feeling well and I'll catch up with you soon,
Love Tetra :-)

Morning all,
Just a quick one this morning...
Jen, luv the pics of you...you're a regular little Tim the toolman' aren't you?

How cute is your belly. You've really popped out since the last one I saw of you.
Tetra, I used to love paddle pops...vanilla was my favourite with chocolate coming a close second.
Bec, I really recommend the belly bra...it's so very comfy. Wish I bought 2...oh well, I can always get one online.
Kye, I've noticed Sherman is very acctive these days too. And it's always the most active when I'm lying on the lounge at night watching the tele

obviously doesn't want me to watch my fav tv shows.
Well, I got the mg powder yesterday and had it last night. I think it's a bit early to tell if it is helping but one thing I did notice was that my legs didn't cramp up in the middle of the night...I only woke up once and that was for a loo break.
Question: Can anyone feel which way bub is lying? I can't tell b/c there's obviously too much fat surrounding the home of Sherman

and I can't distinguish which is a kick or a punch or hiccups. Can you guys?
guess what? I only have 7.5 weeks left of work to go...woohooo!!!!!

Morning all
I have a checklist beside my desk with the days of work numbered, only 41 days of work left (not counting weekends) l will finish Friday 3rd August, for 12 months leave.
Found out yesterday it wasn't me being hormonal Friday thinking the boss was being a megga biatch, she was talking to my counterpart here in the office and admitted she is doing a panic with me leaving so soon and my conterpart has an interview on Wed for another job. She is worried that we with both leave within a month or so of each other and she doesn't know half the projects we are working on etc - so she has been on a mission going from a very hands off boss to micro managing which l'm not dealing with very well. But at least knowing there is a reason behind it makes it a bit easier to deal with.
I am going to mark the baby/pregnancy expo on the calander and try to make it, might be a good first weekend away for our family.
I'm going to chemist today to get my script for heartburn stuff the Dr gave me filled as rennie are starting not to be as effective, bummer.
Sorry no pic's, we got sidetracked last night, hubby was on ebay and found someone selling the baby einstein dvd's and decided we needed them??? Anyone seen any of these dvd's? What are they like?
Isn't it daunting when the tickers start being double numbers.
must dash to PO and mail my nephew's birthday gift, he is 2 on thursday. Since he was born we have gone to visit them for the queens' birthday long weekend (11th june) but his partner's family are having a reunion this year and they will be at that so not sure when l'll get to go and visit him. Will have to see him to drop off the main bit of his gift, l got him a big car mat so way too big to mail, l'm just sending him the cars l got to go with the mat.

Corie - the Baby Einstein DVD's are great. My SIL has all of them and her kids love them. full of bright colours and classical music, simple characters and not too much going on. She's going to burn them for me so I don't need to purchase. But if you get them at a great price, I recommend them.

Morning girls
I'm working from home today and I can't believe I worry about leaving my puppy on his own bored and lonely every day I go to work - all he has done so far this morning is lie on the floor sighing and yawning!! I just about managed to get him onto his feet for a drink of water the lazy little blighter!
Tetra - I'm working until 20 August.
Kat - I can't feel which part is which of the baby and I can't distionguish between a punch or a kick. Actually, my kicks haven't changed since the first time I felt them. They are still gentle and always in the same place never bordering on painful. I put this down to the fact my placenta is lying at the front which means all movements are softer.
Bec - Bummer about Big Brother (did I mention I was in Coles supermarket lined up behind Hayley the other day by the way?!) watching you on the net. We do miss you during the day.
Corie - At least you know why your boss is behaving the way she is now. I hate being micro managed so I can imagine why you feel like you do.
Tetra - Good for you that your hours have cut down. It must be really tiring standing all day.
Kye - I haven't been taking any vitamins during my pregnancy which is why I've been so anal about my diet eating wierd homemade soup concoctions etc but when I asked my doc about my jumpy legs, he told me to take magnesium and calicum caltrate so I am hoping the effect of them will kick in soon (have been taking them four days and no difference so far.) This is gonna sound wierd but I kind of like getting cramps!!!
Tortoise - No wonder you've got swollen ankles with the heat. Try running your wrists under really cold water or putting a cold pack on them for a few minutes.
Ok, I need advice. As you know, I haven't been entirely happy with my obstetrician. My last appt just kind of finished me off with him. So, I called a different Ob who my friends have recommended and he can fit me in and everything is ok to change to him. HOWEVER:
1. He shares the same practice with my current ob which will be embarrassing when I go for my appts.
2. I have to summon up the courage to call the receptionist (who is lovely) of my current Ob and tell her we won't be paying the bill and I will be changing to the other Ob in the practice (eek!)
3. Here's the main problem....the new Ob costs $900 MORE than my current one which is quite a lot of money. On top of that, my current Ob covers for the new one so if the new one happens to be ill on the day of my arrival, I get the old Ob at the new Ob's cost!!!!
4. I've only had three very quick appts with my current ob and from now on, I will have fortnightly appts with the new one so it is still worth changing in terms of how much I will see him because there are more appts to come than have been if you know what I mean BUT is it really worth $900????
Opinions please!

Thanks Kat l'll let hubby continue on his mission to get the dvd's. Might be in the cupboard for a while but l'm sure we will be popular with 2 year old nephew and friends kids in the meantime.
mrsTM l know $900 is a lot of money anytime specially when we are all thinking about the comming time off work and the expences with having a bub but honestly if hubby was supportive of it l would be trying to see the new ob. I'm feel anxious about the whole pregnancy it makes you question every ache and twinge and birth l find the though scary, how will l cope with the pain. The one thing that brings me comfort is having a dr who l trust and can talk to, he might be busy at times but l know he is listening to me and is going to be there for the whole process and l find that thought reasuring.
If you end up having to have your current ob for the actual birth you will still have been able to have the new ob for all check-ups and lead up. But you need to go with your gut on this one, have a good talk to hubby about it. Good luck

I think Jen, that Corie makes a very valid point. For me, it's all about trust. If I didn't trust my Obs then I would definitely change. It would be a huge bummer that the cost is so much more but if you're not confident on the current one, then I think, it will translate itself into a difficult or more worrying time when it comes to giving birth. I know it's a lot of money and that would be a concern for me, but I think you should trust your instincts on this.
Is there any of his other patients (current obs) that you could ask how are his services? Maybe you could ask in a post on here or try another forum (pm me for details...they have lots of info on different obs in different areas).
I'm so sorry you are going through this now...it's really the last thing you need.
What does your hubby say?

Jen for an extra $900 I would seriously consider changing drs. It is so important that you feel comfortable, happy and confident.
Tetra my baby's kicks and punches are so strong that my whole stomach moves. Everyone has been able to feel him/her move and the shop assistant in Sportsgirl was amazed she could watch my stomach move when I was trying on clothes. I also have an anterior placenta which was supposed to mean I wouldn't feel movement but I felt it early on and right now it is really strong. Some days I worry it has kicked through the placenta!! My mum said I was exactly the same so I think s/he will take after me! Apparently my sister and brother were not active at all so I think it really depends on the baby.
Kat I think I can feel which way the baby is lying purely from which way the kicks are coming from. It really does move around a lot - this morning they were on my lower left side and right now they are up higher and on the right side. I could be totally wrong though.
April - I want to get some Baby Einstein DVD's as well - my friend swears by them.

Thanks for your advice girls. My husband is very supportive and says it is up to me but that he's fine with the money if that's what I decide to do. $900 is just such a lot though, considering all the things we need to buy for ourselves and the fact we will only have one salary coming in for six months while I'm on maternity leave.
Kat, this new ob is one that a friend recommended and she said he was just lovely - really, everything I was hoping to find in my Ob. Also, as he shares the same practice as mine, I see him come out to get his patients while I am waiting for my appointment and he's one of those people with a big beaming smile and knows everyone's name plus their partner's name and on the wall in the waiting room are pictures of him holding up new born babies and lovely thank you cards. Mine on the other hand would not know my husband's name from Adam and I'm pretty sure he only knows mine cos he's looked it up on my notes before coming out to get me
It's such a dilemma. Maybe I'll spend the money this time and for the next baby go public because I'll be more confident of what's happening.

Afternoon girls, hope all is well.
Jen - if you're not entirely happy with your doc, I would change. I think it's really nice when the doctor knows you by name. A small thing goes a long way! Makes u feel like an individual rather than just another file.
What sort of dog have you got? I'm dying for a dog but it's just not practical with living in an apartment.
Well not a great nights sleep. I've been bitten all over and was up scratching most of the night!
Went to have my monthly check up yesterday, all good. I was brave enough to ask how much weight I've put on in total. I've put on 6.5kgs since becoming pregnant. I'm sure there's a lot more to come! I asked my doc regarding the diabetes test. Mine won't be til around 32 weeks and they test the blood. I think they must test my husband as well as they said that he would need to come to the appointment. Hmm, should have asked!
Can u believe how fast it's all going? I can't believe you girls are discussing when you will be on maternity leave, I still haven't found anyone to do my job! I'm meeting an old friend this afternoon to try and persuade him to come and work for us. I'm not confident.
Aprilbride - the baby Einstein DVDs are fab! My friend has them, they're quite weird to watch, but babies love them!
Kat - I'm not sure which way the baby is lying, I get kicks, punches from all directions. Sometimes I think there must be more than 4 limbs in there!!!
What's a paddle pop???
Right off for a boring lunch!

A Paddle Pop is a very yummy icecream on a stick that you can buy separately in shops or in packs from the supermarket. There are many flavours, chocolate, caramel etc. They have been around since I was a kid, at least 25 years!
Love Tetra :-)

Morning girls, how is everyone
Oooh gaytimes...haven't had those in ages. Yum! Thanks for reminding me about those Amy...now I want one and it's only 930am!
Well, woke up this morning at about 130am with a bleeding nose...yes, a full on bleeding nose. And no, I wasn't picking it in my sleep

...it took about an hour to settle down taking precious sleep away from me (like I needed less). It was a bit gross...quite clotty and thick...yuck! Anyone else had bleeding noses? My books say it's quite common but still, not a nice thing to wake up to. Maybe, just maybe...hubby punched me in the nose during the night

...
I feel crappy today...tired, sick in the tummy, stretched like a whale, and just generally blurgh!
Over and out,
Kat x.

(((Hugs))) Kat. You need to have a rest and look after yourself. I hope you feel better soon. I haven't had a blood nose yet but I have read it is really common.
Jen have you made a decision about you ob?
Have a great day everyone!

I'm gonna intrude and say No. 2 Kye. Lovely name, also not too common.
Sorry for mentioning Gaytimes Kat!

I have a jack russell called Badger. He is completely nutty and needs more exercise than the boxer dog I used to have so don't make the mistake of thinking small dog = less work! He's completely gorgeous and I love him to bits but when I'm knackered after a day at work (especially now it's winter) sometimes the last thing I feel like doing is walking him in the cold and rain! I grew up with dogs so I'm liking the idea of our children having a dog around too. Not sure how put out he'll be when the baby arrives though.

That's amazing. I've already put on 10 kilos and I've read that you put on half a kilo a week from now on so gawd help the chairs in our place!

Hi Kye...
My pick is no 3. I like it b/c it can be shortened to Lexie and I think that is quite a sweet nickname.

Jen have you made a decision about you ob?
Not much to report on at all today. Actually I have been thinking about girls names and have picked out 3 that I think I like the most. What do you girls think? 1, 2 or 3??
1.
2.
3.
I am leaning towards *** at the moment but it could change!!! I am going to delete them at the end of the day in case any RL friends are lurking around so if you could let me know your favourite as a number rather than the name that would be great!
I just can't decide! I keep changing my mind about the new Ob. I really want to change but can't help thinking $900 is a lot of money. I rang to speak to his receptionsist today and she's going to speak to the new Ob and see whether he can reduce his charges considering I'm already 28 weeks. I'll keep you posted.
Right, I'm going with number 2 then 1 then 3. I like the fact number 2 is different but simple and can't be shortened.
Kat - no nose bleeds but bleeding gums all the time. Can you leave work early and head home for some catch up kipping?!

Morning girls. Hope everyone is well.
Kat - sorry to hear about the nose bleed. Haven't had one of those for years. But I do have bleeding gums! Hope u feel better.
Tetra - I'm craving ice lollies! Perfect for this weather!
Jen - Badger sounds cute! I love boxer's as well. My friend's got one here, her head feels like velvet! I'm sure he'll be a little jealous when the baby arrives but will adjust. My friend who recently had a baby has two dogs and one of them is really jealous when her husband holds the baby. They say that you should give the dog an item of the baby's worn clothing before you come out of hospital. The dog can then get use to the baby's scent. Not sure if it works or not!
Kyew - I like no. 2 - r u convinced it's a girl?! I think you're having a girl!
Has anyone's belly button popped out???? When does this normally happen? I don't think mine is going to pop!

Afternoon Ladies

I am training the lady who is taking over my job so just popped in quickly to see how you are all going.
Kat I haven't had nose bleeds yet they sound yukky I hope you are feeling ok today
I hope I don't put half a kilo on a week from now on I will be massive by the end

I have put on only five kilos so far but I already had a little bit of excess weight. I have my midwife appointment on Friday so will see how much more I have put on.
Tortoise my belly button hasn't popped but I had a hernia on my belly button when I was little so it's not like a proper belly button IYKWIM so mine wont pop - it can't

my scar there has really stretched I never even knew there was a scar there but you can definately see it now

I woke up yelling out in the night last night I had the worst cramp in my leg OMG it hurt my poor hubby I think he nearly had a heart attack I can still feel in my leg where it was ouch.
Well I hope everyone is well belly rubs to you all

Does that count as baby brain?!
I've changed the quote. Doh!
Tortoise - my belly button is on the verge of popping out. I had a real innie as well so I didn't think it would but in the last few weeks it's really come out, as my belly has.
GAWD! Wonder why I've put on so much more weight than you girls??!! (she asks, tucking into a ginger cake)

HA! You guys have nothing on me!!! My weight has skyrocketed!!! I'm even embarrased to tell you guys how much I've put on...but in the spirit of honesty and sisterhood...here goes....
*peeks through fingers* apparently about 20 kgs.

I'm so ashamed of that. And it's not like I have changed my eating habits or anything...I still eat pretty much what I used to eat. I did stop a crazy diet I was doing (detox) where all I ate was protein and LOADS of green vegetables. Now I'm eating carbohydrates (me thinks this could be the problem) and no, I'm not exercising like the crazy person I was but it's still heartbreaking to put on soo much weight. Which is the main reason why I have struggled through this pregnancy. I WISH I had only put on 5 or 6kgs...*sniff*

Kat, thank gawd you're in double figures too. Now young lady, don't go panicking. We went to dinner at a friend's place on Saturday night and she put on 42 kilos during her pregnancy and she was getting all flustered about it and within a week of the baby being born she had lost all but ten of it just through giving birth. The rest the doc says she will lose when she stops brestfeeding and her boobs have gone down
She looked fab and to be honest, apart from her boobs, she looked no bigger than before she was pregnant.
Hark at me though - there I am telling you not to panic. It does make you feel like a bloater when you read others putting on so little. Hey, we'll all be here to support each other get our pre baby bodies back after Setember, just in time to get up the duff and put it all back on again
