I am unsure as to whether I want flowers or candles as the centrepieces.

On the one hand, I Want the flowers because of the smell, on the other, I want the candles for the romantic lighting.

I am not that keen on large candleabras on tables, and I don't want oriential lily arrangements. Can anyone help me out please. I am so useless
Christian Troy
actually I am not really into traditional centrepieces at all, I am not a fan of hurricane vases or the floating glass bowls.

I like things like these but not sure how it would work on a round table.

what about something like that but in a round flat vase, with tealights scattered around the vase, you can have both~!
Sairah
Oh Kimba had some beautiful modern/non traditional centrepieces! give that a try..
kimbalina

This was ours....gorgeous hey!

Wow, Kimba your centrpieces were gorgeous!
Christian Troy
ooh yeah, they are gorgeous!

what are they exactly (Sorry I am so crap with names of flowers)

but yeah Sairah, I think that is what I might be thinking. Although I love Kimba's....
kimbalina
umm - My bridesman did the design with the florist, I believe they are antherium lillies, singapore orchids and black boys for the stalks.

We used soba mats I bought from the Y100 store as the base and sprinkled black pebbles around the base.

and Kimba, your centrepieces are just amazing!
Sairah
Lauren,

Sorry for being rather un helpful... :|

I am having tall vases with willow, dodda vine, white singapore orchids and pears (in the bottom), surrounded buy tealights, our tables are round aswell..

are you after something simple or standoutish??
kimbalina
They did a good job -- and it was very affordable.

We won't mention the fact they forgot to bring rose petals for the flowergirl!
Christian Troy
Yeah, I want something a bit more than rosepetals though Kir....our family friend is doing the flowers for us at cost price so flowers should not cost too much. Having said that I don't want anything too OTT, I just want something quite simple I think.

Kimbalina, are you able to tell me how much they cost if you don't mind?

Sairah, that sounds amazing, have you any pics?
Sairah
Lauren,

I dont really have any pics, but if you can imagine it - ill post the bits up..

In the bottom of the vases a "nest" of doda vine, with 3 green/gold baby pears nested into them

and the tall lengths of twisted willow centred in the middle of the next going all the way up the vase and out the top (very tall centre pieces), with 3-5 springs of white singapore orchids coming out the top..

and then a few votive candles in a circle around the bottom of the vase

Hi Lauren,
I think the centrepiece you showed us looks gorgeous, very modern and I think it could still work with a round table. I've found a few more I thought might suit your venue, sorry I'm not sure what colour flowers you're after but, they can be changed easily anyway...
This one with candles around the outside so you get both aspects - flowers and candles.

I would take out the mirror with this one as it just doesn't seem to fit in?

Our theme is The romance of pink & white (Think marshmellow colours)
I am having vases of 12 pale pink tulips on every table . Very simple ! I wanted it to be understated and simple , yet elegant !
I am tossing up if i should have a few votives on the table !
kimbalina
That arrangement times 17 was $630 plus $70 delivery cause we were way outta town.

I think that's pretty good, but then again, we didn't have a bouquet, etc

How about something like this? This is what we are going to have but don't know what type of flowers at the bottom yet.

I like that - what are those lights in the vases?
Are they those lights on cable that you can tie around twigs? Wonder if you can hire those.... dry.gif

We are hiring these from the florist so you could maybe inquire with your local florists to see if they will hire them out to you?

sounds like your getting married at pepper creek and having your reception at the barrel room, if thats the case you dont need anything over the top fresh flowers and candles the room sets a sence all of its own
T'sPrincess
lees that is a very beautiful centrepiece
T'sPrincess
lee - that is amazing

though they are all pretty nice.. have you decided yet?
Miss_Lisa
These were mine.. the photo doesn't do them justice because the flash was on and you can't see them glow. They worked so well in the middle of our cocktail tables smile.gif

All of these you could have little tealight candles around in the glass tealight candle holder things.
