I think I need a holiday! Just a week to get away from it all. Pretty depressing thought going on my own but has anyone got any suggestions?

Nope I know its depressingthinking about holidays on your own but I've just done it!

I didn't go anywhere but I caught up with gf's, went shopping, reading, pampered myself a bit ect. It was freat to recharge again!

what about a tour - like contiki or something - i did that by myself and had a ball and made so many great friends!

you can go anywhere really, but i guess it depends on how comfortable you are with travelling alone. i wouldn't give it a second throught.

if you have a car, just go for a bit of a road trip.

Holidays for one may seem sad or depressing, but I prefer to think of it as independant and strong. I had a week in Paris by myself and it was divine just to be able to do whatever I wanted to do, treat myself to whatever I felt like, had dinner alone and naps in the afternoon when the Lourve got too much. Its an adventure and a chance to reconnect with yourself.

As much as I love travelling with husband or friends, I sometimes treat myself to a day out alone and really enjoy it.

The spa sounds like an awesome idea!

I'd head to a Health Spa for a week or so for some really nice 'me' time as well as lots of pampering.

Ok now im really wanting to go on a holiday and to a spa, i just read the best spa places in aus in New woman magazine.........oh they look so nice and relaxing.

oooh what a good idea! i'd go somewhere warm, lie by the pool, drink cocktails, read books! the sheraton in fiji was lovely, and would be nice on your own. i think the only hard part might be the evenings, but you could have a dinner and then chill out in your room, watch movies, how luxurious!!

i really think it's a fab idea! before you know it you'll be shacked up with bubbas and no time to yourself so take the opportunity!! wish i could come!!!

I went to Tassie a few years ago by myself. Drove down to Melbourne and got on the boat and then drove around everywhere. I loved it and it was so nice to do what I wanted when I wanted to.

It's liberating as well!

Great idea Sambaline - what about a cruise?
Radar
Good idea- We should all go on an I-do girls ontheir own holiday together!
Telle
Wow. smile.gif Jealous much over here? laugh.gif

It depends on your budget. I think Noosa would be a nice safe, sunny place to enjoy yourself with plenty of good restaurants to dine at. smile.gif

I also think if you didn't want to take a whole week you could do a short stint at a health spa. (Don't know if that's your thing?)

I think the more massages, magazine reading and 'me' time... the better. wink.gif

All I have to say is... you go girl. (snap, snap) laugh.gif
Sambellina
Thanks Girls - you've really perked me up about it smile.gif

I think the health spa sounds good. I'm going to look into that idea!

I know what you mean about a holiday on your own being independent and liberating but I live on my own so I have plenty of independence wink.gif bit over it now laugh.gif

Aimee....veeeery tempting biggrin.gif

I reckon a driving hoiday would be cool biggrin.gif You could drive from one luxurious B&B/spa/motel to the next and see some of Australia along the way smile.gif

I could take the Smart Car on a road trip laugh.gif

How about some of the islands on the reef in Qld. I know some of them cater well for young singles - South Mole??? Check it out.
