Hey Jason ...
not so much a poem..
But something that one of my friends hubbys did the day of her wedding that I thought was just so sweet/cute and funny

was that he had sent a card and in it written the typical mussy stuff.. but the card itself was actually one of those "acceptace" cards... like a "l'll come to your party"

was so funny

and so very "him" too

This is from one of my favourite books. It's by Traci Harding, and was sent from the groom to the bride on the wedding day
We strangely met
Like not so many
Yet still my love
Be true as any
In the Old Ones choice
My soul dost rejoice
And no gift could express
The love for thee I do possess
So love him in thy heart,
Whose forever joy thou art
And our love will know no end
My dear and sweetest friend

Hold on why would she need cheering up??? Is she sad that she is getting married?
There are heaps of books around for a cheap option do an in internet search on love poetry, or go to your local library and check out the greats.

I like the idea of leaving a little note/poem in her shoe the night before so she gets it when putting them on... HOWEVER, if she's like me, that would make her bawl. Not a good idea if shoes go on after makeup. I dont think there's much you can do. Its a natural reaction, it doesn't mean she is sad.

Do you still need some poems?
I've got a few at home somewhere. I collect nice ones that I come across for special occasions, so I can slip little notes to her
If you still need some, I'll have a look for them and post them for you.

Have you had a look in the Wedding Words section of the forums? There's lots there. I found these few with a quick search:
From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be your home.
I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
This day we shall remember well, as in our married love we dwell
And cast our minds back to this time, you made me yours and I you mine
In wedded love we chose to be, each binding, each yet free
As months and days and years go on, our love will hold us firm and strong
The marriage vow this day we say, is a vow we'll build on day by day
And as we walk the path of life, the world will know we're man and wife
And yet we know that all shall see, that bond of love twist you and me
For in this life we each shall care, that all we do is all times fair
We pledge this day to be as one, in these wondrous years to come.
I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for.

the best are the ones that come from within yourself.
go for a drive to a nice seecluded are a with a pen paper and a jug of coffee

and jstu sit down and meditate for a while.
Absorb everythign around you and contemplate the steps your about to take.. slowly u can start jotting down ur thoughts and ideas in a clear manner and from here u can start evolving your poems..
and it doesnt have to rhyme, it doesnt have to make sense, it doesnt have impress... it just has to be a reflection of you...
