I have been a lurker in this Topic for a number of months now but never quite got the courage to post (scared off by something I read a while back about "pre-engaged" and "desperate"?)

Anyway, I have just made an post in the "Introduce yourself" Topic feeling now was the right time as my OH proposed on Valentines day.

We have been together 6 years, and I was seriously really starting to give up hope.
So, to those of you in waiting: I know how you feel, I offer you my support and my hopes for speedy proposals for all of you.

don't worry about the MINORITY that can get their claws out on i-do. it's the same as in life, 99.9% of people are warm, welcoming and friendly.

onto the more important things - we need a full story of the proposal! 100 pictures of the ring! all the details!!!

i am one of the happily commited girls (also been with OH for nearly 6 years)(but not for too much longer I think as my OH hinted that he had to go back into the store where he took me ring shopping a few weeks ago to see what i liked!!!!)

I hear what you are saying though about the whole desperate thing.
i too read a lot of posts telling everyone that if they pushed (or even sat their OH down and had a talk about it) then they were forcing a proposal.

i just try to remember that this is a forum where people are free to post their feelings and ideas and that those ideas may be right for them, but are not necessarily right for me

on the brighter side - this forum can be an especially good place to find support and friendship when you need it most and definitely a gold mine of ideas for everything 'wedding'

I too 'lurked' for a while and have found the forums a great way to share info with some fab women!!

My significant other and i haven't been together as long as some, but we still fit into the 'happily committed' catergory!

He tells me that he'd marry me at the drop of a hat - i'm throwning down like you wouldn't believe......still hasn't taken the bait!!!
