Hi girls I have just come back from my second scan and I was told that I have a cyst on my right Overy.

I was asked if I had pain on that side? Yes
Have I had bleeding? No

Does anyone know any info about this? I am concerned. Will my baby be alright? Will I go on to have a normal healthy pregnancy? Oh so many questions

Hi hon, i've only had one cyst in my life (it was quite big but it shrunk and disappeared on it's own in time).

I can imagine how scared you must be right now hon. I wish i had some answers for you, but i don't i'm sorry. I do however pray that all goes well honey. Couldn't the Dr's tell you if it's going to cause problems? I think i'd be calling someone right away and asking for some answers! The stress isn't going to help you sweetie.

I'm sorry I can't help with any info, but wanted to say that you should definately be ringing the doctors, you may be worrying unnecessarily, but I can competely understand why you would be worrying.

Did they say it was corpus luteum cyst? If so, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

My sister delveloped a large cyst on her ovary while pregnant, the hormones just got that going too. She did experience some early bleeding from it and it was monitored throughout the pregnancy to make sure it didn't get too big. The baby was completely unaffected and she had a very succesful vaginal delivery at 39w6d. Six weeks post partum she had the cyst surgically removed.

The first ulrtasound we had found a cyst on my left ovary, I think it was about 5cm. I haven't had any problems with it and bubs hasn't had any issues either. I was told that in most cases they tend to go away on their own accord, however there is a note on my file to have a scan done post partum to check on the cyst, so I'll have to wait and see what happens then.

Aparently corpus leutem (sp?) cysts are quite common in pregnancy.

Hopefully its nothing to worry about.

I have an appointment with my Doc on Tuesday to discuss my results so hopefully she will have some answers for me. I don't know what type it is but I'm now pretty sure there is nothing to worry about.
