I sleep on my stomach quite a lot, but now after about 5 to 10 minutes it gets a little uncomfortable, kind of like trying to sleep on it with a belly full of pizza!

Anyway, my question is - does it hurt the bubs at all by sleeping on your stomach (told you it was a silly question!)? If it doesn't, how far along will I be when it is actually impossible to sleep on my stomach?

From what I understand it doesn't affect bubs as there's all that amniotic fluid around bubs protecting him/her.
I can't sleep on my belly now as it's too uncomfortable.......
I guess it's when your bump starts to grow, that's when it's too uncomfortable and you will hate lying on your tum......
Very annoying for tummy sleepers lol.

I'm a tummy sleeper - and am still sleeping on my tummy as much as I can.
I don't have much of a bump yet though - and I have noticed in the last few days as my bump has grown a little it has become a bit more uncomfortable to sleep on my belly.
I think as long as it is comfortable for you it is fine

I am a tummy sleeper, I have been finding its my boobs that hurt to lie on rather than my tummy.

I am a tummy sleeper too, I fall asleep on my side or back but have been waking up alot in the last few weeks on my tummy or slightly twisted to the side.
Try not to worry about it too much or you will not get enough sleep.

aww i miss sleeping on my tummy!! its the BEST way to sleep!!
I was doing it right up until 18 weeks (we have the SOFTEST bed) but when I was away in Europe I couldnt do it as the beds were too hard!
Now Im back home, I can kinda sleep on my stomach. What I do is lay side on but I let my TOP leg move out at right angles and go onto my stomach so Im kinda on my stomach but kinda not.
what i read in my books is that its ok to sleep on your stomach, its your back you shouldnt sleep on!
But im getting better at sleeping on my side!

I am a tummy sleeper also and am finding it hard to sleep that way as it hurts.
I also know that sleeping on your back later in pregnancy is bad as is sleeping on your left hand side as it cuts off blood supply to the uterus. Just what I was told but if thats wrong please let me know

I heard that too though I heard sleeping on your right is worse because of all the organs in your body. If you sleep on your left, they can move and wont get squashed by the baby - but then I could be wrong also.

It is your "left" side that they recommend you sleep on, not your right!

I love sleeping on my Tummy too. Though I find I cant at the moment as my boobs are just too painful. I have also heard you are meant to sleep on the left side.

The biggest problem is, you hear that you SHOULD be doing this, and you SHOULD be doing that, but in practice its not always as straight forward as it seems.. like I said, i go to sleep on my side, but WAKE UP on my stomach.. that part of it is totally out of my control.. ask 10 pregnant woman how they sleep, and the answer will be "however I can get to sleep.." because we have that much difficulty getting to that state, that we are happy to just fall asleep in whatever position is most comfortable..
I went to sleep last night sitting between my husbands legs and leaning on his belly while he was stroking my belly, because it was so hot, and muggy and I couldnt sleep!

Hey Jodi, not a silly question at all, I asked this one a while back too
At 23 weeks I still sleep on my tummy as it's my favourite. WE're not meant to sleep on backs after 20 weeks, and if I sleep on my side I seem to get dead legs. To fit on my tummy now though I do have to bring one leg up into right angles to make room for tummy if that makes sense?
